come at any time of an year.
Time available for replying can be from one hour to few
days only.
Simultaneous demands from different customers at the
same time is possible.
The design and Cost estimation people are over pressed to
meet the targets in spite of their regular involvements with
manufacturing / testing departments.
Possibility of mistakes, changes in design requirements,
convincing task of customers are not ruled out.
All quotations may not realize in to Work Order but nothing
to be neglected.
3. Efforts from SARA consultants
• Since 1995 we were associated with
many manufacturers in establishing
manufacturing and testing facility and
offering design support to many firms.
• Felt the urgency in Design and costing
submissions.
• Visualized that PCs would help ( PCs were
costly in those days) and attempted on it.
4. Attempts on Automation
• Developed Software based assistance on Core
cutting arrangement which was taking more time
and repetitive calculations. – Found remarkable
accuracy and time savings.
• Encouraged by this, started putting efforts on
Design calculations. – At that time XL based
calculations were used by many people.
• Observed weak points in XL system. So
concentrated on programming techniques.
5. Achievements
• Numerous software modules have been developed in collaboration
with actual users.
• Advantages observed:
• Formulae and limits are not exposed / non editable.
• Impedance and Load loss can be tuned Automatically.
• Many designs can be generated by varying various factors
to know the costing economics without loosing quality and
Specs.
• Multiple types of Print outs are possible.
• Interlinking of outputs to other software like drawing,
Simulation tests, guidance values for test field, Re-
designing in case of changes in parameters or pricing
indexes.
• Drawings to scale can be generated within few minutes
and later on can be edited easily for manufacturing.
• Quicker Submission of tenders.
