2. 5 Things to Know About LendUp
What We Do
We are a socially responsible lender that is redefining payday loans from a ‘trap’ to an ‘opportunity’.
The LendUp Product
We created the LendUp Ladder, which rewards financially responsible behavior (such as paying on
time, paying early, taking animated credit education classes) with the ability to borrow more money
at better rates for longer periods of time, and report to major credit bureaus to build credit.
LendUp’s Secret Sauce
We spent 2+ years building a platform designed specifically for digital lending - real time risk
decisions, real time customer rewards, real time loan funding, in a fully legal and compliant manner.
We Say Yes!
We use much more data in our proprietary, patent-pending underwriting methodology, which
allows us a better insight to our applicants, and hence offer credit to those that banks decline.
Ladders, Not Chutes.
Everything we build at LendUp has to help customers get to a better financial future. No debt
traps, transparent pricing with no fine print. We only make money when our customers pay us
back, not when they get further into debt.

3. It’s been a while since we last saw you at the Innovation
Project this past March. What have you been up to since
then?
We launched our product in California with the goal of
helping reach 10,000 customers as an alternative to
payday lending. Exactly one year later, we have proven
the effectiveness of our model and are starting our
national rollout plan.

4. During the Innovator EXPO, you had the opportunity to showcase your
demo to major thought leaders in the industry, how did this type of
access affect your business? How did it change your go to market
approach?
It was a great opportunity to meet lots of people in
traditional financial services and hopefully inspire them to
focus on building better products for the unhappily served,
and see how incorporating education into their products
makes better, more loyal customers.

5. What advice would you have for this year's exhibitors?
The Innovators Expo was a great forum for really two
things:
1. Major exposure to high level financial services and
executives
2. The ability to discuss partnerships, brainstorm and
really push the limits of what could be possible.
I recommend bringing a lot of business cards, a demo of
your product so people can get really hands on, and
materials to help you stand out in the crowd.
Oh, and it is winter - so gloves and a scarf.

6. We are all about what is next in payments, so what is next
for you?
Thinking about how mobile can be used not just as a
wallet, but as an alternative to the traditional credit card for
those that have no credit card, or have no more credit
utilization.
