7n Itineraries with and without Tahiti Iti
The standard program is Huahine – Taha’a – overnight in Bora Bora and overnight in Moorea with other itineraries adding to this core base.
On departures that feature Tahiti Iti – there is one day in Moorea and a call at the beginning of the week in Vairao on Tahiti-Iti. Amazing opportunity to experience a church service within walking distance of the ship and a variety of excursions.
Tahiti Iti – or Little Tahiti is connected to the larger Tahiti Nui, but is a world away. Remote, untouched, gentle, welcoming people – excursions include a boat trip along its rugged coast with a stop for snorkeling and an opportunity to watch surfers at the most famous wave in Tahiti – home of the Tahiti Pro Competition; there is also a trip into a nature and a special garden, a highlights tour offering beautiful vistas, excellent SCUBA diving and an opportunity to play golf on one of two courses in French Polynesia.
10n itineraries add calls in the atolls of Rangiroa and Fakarava – famed dive and snorkeling sites.
11n ventures out of French Polynesia to the Cook Islands with calls in Aitutaki and Raratonga
The 14 n sailing adds a call in Fakarava and four calls in the Marquesas – the most remote archipelago with different music, dance, and culture. It is here that Paul Gauguin found inspiration for some of his most famous works.
- In Fiji, virtually everyone you’ll meet will be smiling—and when you view the high mountains, lush vegetation, shimmering waters, and pristine white-sand beaches of this island nation, you’ll understand why.
- A British colony for nearly a century before gaining its independence in 1970, Fiji remains English speaking and today boasts a multinational population, among whom the majority are of Melanesian descent. As you mingle with the locals, you’ll see why Melanesians are reputed to be among the friendliest people in the world. We call at the capital of Suva.
Savusavu:
- Nestled among lush green hills and surrounded by coral reefs, Savusavu was once a bustling trading port for center for sandalwood, beche-de-mer (sea cucumber), and copra (coconut oil). Today, its major industry is sugar cultivation.
- Largely unchanged over the past 30 years, the village is sometimes called the “Hidden Paradise of Fiji,” with its single, half-mile-long main street facing a fantastically beautiful bay.
- Explore at your leisure, or join one of many available shore excursions, such as a visit to a black-pearl farm, a Fijian village, or a plantation.
