The brown bear lives in woodlands.
However, it seems clumsy, it can run
at the speed of 45 km per hour in
short distances.
It eats roots, acorns and young
grasses. It likes: wild
strawberries, raspberries and
blueberries, wild
apples, plums, pears, watermelons
and ants. In summer the brown bear
spends considerable time in eating as
it needs 14 kg of food per day. The
majority of winter is spent sleeping in
their dens.

the day it hides under rocks or in

5. EUROPEAN MINK
In nature it inhabits the
northeast parts of
Bulgaria, and it favors humid
climate as it is alongside the
Danube
The mink fur is valuable and
because of that it has been a
victim of poaching.
The males reach a length of 2843 cm, 12-19 cm tail and weigh
740 g. The females are 32-40
cm, 12-18 cm tail and weigh
440 gr. It inhabits ponds, rivers
and coastal lakes, it is rarely
found in swamps. It gives birth
to from 2 to 7 young. It lives
about 8-10 years.

such as deer, wild goats, etc..

Bulgaria growing only in The Pirin
mountains and the Stara Planina

petals, arranged in a circle.
