IMPORTANT OBJECTS AND SYMBOLS <ul><li>The Shofar </li></ul><ul><li>A ram’s horn that is blown during the month of Rosh Hashanah and at the end of Yom Kippur. </li></ul><ul><li>Purpose is to remind Jews of the responsibility to ask forgiveness for their sins. </li></ul><ul><li>The Kippah </li></ul><ul><li>A small cap worn of the head signifying that human beings are beneath god </li></ul><ul><li>Some Jews wear the Kippah at different times or all day. </li></ul><ul><li>The Tallit </li></ul><ul><li>*A garment worn during morning prayers. Most important part are the fringes. </li></ul><ul><li>*Jewish boys get a Tallit at Age 13, during their bar mitzvah. </li></ul>

CELEBRATIONS AND HOLIDAYS <ul><li>BAR/BAT MITZVAH </li></ul><ul><li>Rosh Hashanah </li></ul><ul><li>Bar Mitzvah is for a boy and Bat Mitzvah is for a girl </li></ul><ul><li>Boys celebrate it at age 13 and girls celebrate at age 12 </li></ul><ul><li>When a Bar or Bat Mitzvah happens, they celebrate by having a huge party and they read part of the Torah . </li></ul><ul><li>Rosh Hashanah is the start of a New Year on the Hebrew Calendar </li></ul><ul><li>Represents the creation of the World or the Universe </li></ul><ul><li>Described as “the day of judgment” </li></ul>
