2. Lil Wayne - Mirror
The mirrors video inspires me in many ways, the visual
content of this music video is very strong, the paint
used to express feelings is a a prop used very well
using colors such as red and black to indicate
darkness and blood to show he's shed a lot of blood
and its made him a dark person. Close ups are used a
lot to show scars and tattoos on Wayne's body, all
telling its own story, showing the moral of the song you
cant judge someone if you don’t know what they have
been through. This video inspires me strongly as at the
end he uses the dark colors to paint a picture of him as
a devil, indicating the fame has made him evil and that
he sees a devil in the mirror now because of all the
pain he's been through. This is a strong video to
indicate pain and feelings through visual arts, a lot of
rappers show pain before they got famous but Wayne
3. 2Pac - Ghetto Gospel
Ghetto gospel has been a major inspiration for me
ever since I was a kid, it was the song that got me
into rap music in a major way, the video consists of a
former gang member who gets killed after leaving the
gang life and dedicating his life to being a better
family guy, he gets shot in a gang drive by because
he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. This
video is a big inspiration for me because 2pac points
out that everyone's equal no matter how hard life is,
and even through ruff times you can make changes
for the better. The video is a real eye opener for
people and gang members also as it points out being
sin a gang only equals death.
4. Flo Rida - Wild Ones
This music video inspires me differently to the others
as it shows music aren't all about pain or hard work it
can also be fun. Flo rida shows himself having a good
time in Dubai with fun activities such as sky diving and
driving the tron motorbike. Flo rida shows a totally
different aspect of rap music in this video as he shows
the fast life it brings, this inspires me as it shows
anything is achievable if you put your work in. he also
shows the thrills of life like the once in a lifetime things
everyone wants to do e.g. racing fast cars etc., this
video is fun in everyway, and inspires people to chase
there dreams as it will be rewarding after.
5. Snoop dogg – young wild
and free
This is a very inspirational video for young kids growing
up, it shows the madness kids get up to in high school
and that school is fun because the kids make it. This
video plays a major roll in every kids school life as it
was like a anthem when it came out due to the fact the
video shows the life every kid wanted in school just to
mess around and have fun without learning. The video
shows school parties and school kids having fun at
brake times, this inspires all young kids as in school
no-one really wanted to learn so when this video came
out it spoke for itself of how every kid wanted school to
be.
6. The Notorious B.I.G. Juicy
b.i.g a lot like 2pac inspired me from a very young age
with there video due to there hard hitting videos that
you can relate to. In this video biggie shows how he
was a no-one and music changed his life, the video
shows biggie before he was rich and after showing him
hanging in the streets then being in a mansion drinking
champagne. This was a major inspiration growing up
as it showed that even when you hit rock bottom you
can get up and become someone, much like biggie in
this video who was a poor kid, he soon achieved his
dream. This video inspires me to reach for my goals as
if biggie can come up from the dirt of Brooklyn streets
as a hustler with no education, then why cant
anyone, all it takes is work.
