Sattva is a social enterprise focused on research, media, and consulting to promote social development. It conducts case studies, impact assessments, and methodology development for social organizations. Current research projects include a study on corporate social responsibility and the design of a social networking site. Sattva also provides strategic, operational, and financial consulting services to social sectors. It measures its progress through social change and believes that delivering the right information to the right audiences can empower change. The founding team has experience in technology, entrepreneurship, and the social sector. Senior consultants have backgrounds in microfinance, innovation consulting, and founding non-profits.

7. Founding Team
Vikram Rai is the Chief Executive Officer of Sattva. Vikram brings in experiences in
technology products and services, people management as well as organizational
development having worked in corporations of various sizes including MerIndus Consulting,
Telelogic AB and IBM. Vikram is currently the trustee of a social-consulting organization
called I Think I Have A Solution. His passions include theatre, music and travel. He believes
in the need for a combination of pragmatic, sensitive and creative approaches to solving
social problems.
Vikram holds a B.E(Hons) in Computer Science from BITS, Pilani.
Aarti Mohan heads the Media Business of Sattva and is the Chief Editor of the division's
flagship web-magazine “The Alternative”. She has over 6 years of technical experience
designing processors in companies like Texas Instruments and AMD, where she has played
key roles, mentoring and guiding new teams. She is passionate about dancing and has been
practicing, professing and teaching the art of Bharatnatyam over the last 20 years, giving
performances all over India, Europe, USA and Singapore. Aarti believes that the right
information can empower people to bring about change.
Aarti holds a B.E(Hons) Computer Science from BITS, Pilani.
8. Founding Team
Srikrishna Sridhar Murthy heads Sattva's Consulting Business and also chairs the
Sattva Board. Krishna comes with a strong entrepreneurial background with diverse
experience in technology, theatre, social sector and consulting. Krishna is currently a
Principal at Longhouse Consulting, where he's responsible for overall strategy, business
development and operations. Krishna is passionate about building scalable organizations
and business models for social development. He currently serves on the Board of Dream a
Dream and HuaDan (China).
Krishna holds a B.E(Hons) in Computer Science from BITS, Pilani and an M.B.A from
INSEAD, focused on entrepreneurship.
Rathish Balakrishnan heads Sattva's Research Business. Rathish currently works as a
Senior Product Manager in SAP Labs India, where he is responsible for Product Strategy and
Field Enablement in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining SAP, Rathish was a part of
Center for Advanced learning Technologies, one of Europe’s leading research organizations
in e-learning and knowledge management. His other passions include writing, theater and
public speaking. Rathish truly believes in the power of information, and that providing right
information to the right audience is fundamental to social change.
Rathish has a degree in M.Sc Information Systems from BITS Pilani.
9. Senior Consultants
Neeru Marya Sharma is a Partner at Sattva’s consulting business. Neeru has over 10
years of Business/ Management Consulting experience. Most recently, she headed the India
operations of Unitus, a leading non-profit working with Microfinance Institutions in India
and around the world. Neeru has also worked on various assignments with Unitus partner
MFIs to identify and implement initiatives to achieve rapid, sustainable growth and scale.
Prior to joining Unitus, she practiced at an Innovation Consulting firm, helping
organizations think differently and facilitating growth through Innovation.
Earlier in her career, she has worked for over three years with PricewaterhouseCoopers and
Ernst & Young (in Africa and India respectively) on areas of Corporate Strategy and
change.
Vishal Talreja is a Consultant at Sattva and is the Co-founder and Director of Dream A
Dream, a leading NGO in India working on building life skills in children. Vishal is an
Ashoka Fellow (www.ashoka.org) and also a trainer and consultant on NGO Management.
In 2006, Vishal was represented Dream A Dream on a International Visitor Leadership
Exchange Programme (IVLEP) sponsored by the United States Department of State. Vishal
represented Dream A Dream as an "Architect of the Future" at the Waldzell - Global Dialog
on Inspiration (www.waldzell.org) in Vienna, Austria in 2006 and 2007.
Vishal is also on the Board of Unltd India (www.unltdindia.org), Bangalore Cares and
ITIHAS (www.itihas.org.in).
