ORIGIN OF GAMING
The earliest known interactive electronic game was
by Thomas T. Goldsmith Jr. and Estle Ray Mann on
a cathode ray tube in 1947. The game was a missile
simulator inspired by radar displays from World War
II. It used analog circuitry to control the CRT beam
and position a dot on the screen.
TIC-TAC-TOE,MOUSE MAZE
In 1957–1961, a collection of interactive graphical
programs were created at MIT.
Mouse in the Maze allowed users to use a light pen to
place maze walls, dots that represented bits of cheese.
Tic-Tac-Toe used the light pen as well to play a simple
game of noughts and crosses against the computer.
GAMING CONSOLE
A Video Game Console is an interactive
entertainment computer or customized computer
system that produces a video display signal which can
be used with a display device
(a television, monitor, etc.) to display a video game.

Most Important Component Of The
Gaming Console
RAM
Provides Temporary Storage Of Games As They're Being
Played.
Without RAM, even the fastest CPU could not provide
the necessary speed for an interactive gaming
experience.
SOFTWARE KERNEL
The Console's operating system.
Provides the interface between the various pieces of
hardware.
GRAPHIC PROCESSORS
Provides Specialized Mapping, Texturing And Geometric

Controls Video Output
ORIGIN OF GAMING CONSOLES
Magnavox released the first home video game
console which could be connected to a TV set—
the Magnavox Odyssey, invented by Ralph H.
Baer.
The Odyssey uses a type of removable printed
circuit board card that inserts into a slot similar to
a ROM cartridge slot.
Was Powered By Batteries
Moderately Successful
