  3. 3.  Primark is a subsidiary of international food, ingredients and retail group Associated British Foods.  Primark was first opened by Arthur Ryan in June 1969 in Mary Street, Dublin under the name Penney’s in Ireland.  By 2000 to 2012 its operating 234 branches across the UK, Ireland and Europe but recent years they spread there branches to 284 across globe.  Primark is an Irish clothing retailer operating in –

Key concept about Primark-  Provide low cost price for products.  Perform as a retail fashion business. Like others does not manufactured any goods by itself. It conduct with its supplier to produce goods based on its specification. So it gets right goods to the right place at the right price. Bangladesh,India,Chaina,Turkey are the prime source of there supplier.

  8. 8. • Primark Company is low cost company and they can be attack for the British press for bad practices and exploitation off the workers. • Primark need to care are climate change, personal, workers disease, fair trade, advertising to the kids (used the kids in publicity) and poverty history .
  9. 9. • Primark is based in Ireland and they need to be more aware for the British yellow newspaper and TV. • Low cost companies like Primark are quite easy to attack because need low price product and this companies pay low salary and have bad conditions in the factories

  11. 11. • HER project means Health enables returns project. • HER project is at profit and productivity project . Primark need low labor turnover to produce low cost and quality/price product . They promote cleanliness (basic health education)Primark target are low fertility rate and low illness of the labor force and it is win-win situation. HER project give best opportunities to employees and use education as tool for change
  12. 12. • As studies of the HER project in other countries have shown, each dollar invested in the health of female employees can yield more than three dollars in business benefits. • HER project is not purely about business benefits, but focused on making a Difference to the lives of its supplier workers.

What more extent Primark can take for its suppliers employees- • Primark can open monitoring branch in there suppliers country. • They can introduce new branch in the suppliers country. • Monitoring working condition and ensuring the safety of there suppliers. • Proper wage should be confirmed for the employees. • HERproject should be practiced properly.
