Art of Presenting

  1. 1. An idea, a thought that buzzed across your mind, an idea of changing the world, an idea you think is far behind any person can think. Well to be true ideas are never ending so are the ways to set them up. If we talk about the current world, the current people the working memory of the people is just long enough to hold till the information is useful. So to directly make an impact or in a way convulse their brains the direct and the simple way is through presentations. A presentation is more of a formal way of demonstrating your views, thoughts .It is basically a form of exposure of your specialized area, and a form of healthy communication by knowing our goals more clearly. Let’s quickly dig into the apt ways of preparing and presenting one. Resenting into the 3 known P’s for a Presentation: Prepare, Practice, Perform. Preparing one- There are various tools available to begin with the preparation. But before that a pre-exercise is needed. -research and collect the available data. -think of a particular layout or format to sort them into (priority wise). -well awareness of the topic chosen. After the pre-exercise task one needs to start preparing the presentation considering the few basic elements in mind:  The structure should be sorted and clear.  Too much text should never be added into the individual slides.  A pictorial representation always have more impact than the later.  The slides should not be too flashy, color selection should be done accordingly.  Organization of the data should be done in such a way that it is clear and more consistent with the audience.  Spell check. Spelling mistakes are strictly not welcome.  The font size should be approachable enough for the audience  Grammatical errors should be prevented. After a long tiring process of preparing the whole presentation, we move towards the next phase of presenting it. Presenting All it take is a moment’s courage to stand and speak out the thoughts, the views, the actions rolling all over your mind. Presenting can be compared to a form of manipulative instance that how well you can carry out the whole thing even if you do not have plenty of content or limited knowledge of the topic.
  2. 2. Heading towards some key points:  Appearance- The way you dress up.(Flashy clothes discarded)  Attitude-The attitude you carry should not reflect dissent.  Confidence-Boost up.  Surrounding environment-Get comfortable and try quoting the examples from the current environment.  Time-A rough idea of managing time should be there in mind.  Distributed eye contact.  Control over your pace of delivering (speaking).  Last but not the least, practice is all that is required to set you up for the presentation. Can improve it my practicing in front of the mirror or with the help of a stop watch etc. Heading towards an extension to this i.e. performance. Performance: Performance is all about how charismatic you are, the way you spellbound people. The aura you could create with all eyes sticking at you. Summarizing we could say it is all about you now.  The way you walk in.  How deliberate you are with your movements, considering your hand and the way you capture the attention of the audience.  Avoid pointing your finger at one particular thing, can use other hand movements.  Avoidance of fillers.  You yourself should try to enjoy the performance rather than getting the feelings of a nervous breakdown. Heading towards the end of the discussion it’s just Be Confident, Rehearse, Avoid acting like a zombie, Feel free to be free spirited.
