One of the biggest frauds being perpetrated in Kerala in recent times is the Chief Minister's Public Contact Program. These road shows were lasted conducted in all the district headquarters soon after Oommen Chandy took over as Chief Minister of this state in 2011. I consider this as a fraud for the following reasons: 1. These are not exactly the Chief Minister's Public Contact Programs. Citizens file complaints with the district administration and the District Collector's office routes these to the concerned offices for the comments of the respective heads of those offices. These replies are then routed back to the complainant on the day of the roadshow with the rider that those who are not happy with the reply can give another complaint direct to the CM! But this has limited possibility. 2. Every complaint submitted should have resulted in some head rolling in some government office but nothing of that sort happened. in fact nothing has been done to ensure that these kinds of complaints do not recur! 3. There have been no response to complaints resubmitted/followed up! 4. No resources have been allotted for conducting these road shows and the takes had been distributed to various offices like Public Works Department, Municipality, Tehsildars etc. And they had been forced to 'manage' the resources. Atleast in the case of the Municipality these has been an allegation of corruption to the tune of lakh of rupees! I have posted three complaints I had submitted in my blogs. Here what I have posted is the response from the President of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum to my complaint which is posted at http://raviforjustice.blogspot.com/2011/11/chief-ministers-contact-program.html Readers may evaluate the quality themselves! Tailpiece: You may also be surprised to know that Oommen Chandy got an award from the UN for this fraud!
