- We launched 4G LTE a little under a year ago in 38 markets .On Thursday, Oct. 20, we turned on our 4G LTE network in 22 new markets new cities. With these new cities we tipped the scale and I can now officially, and proudly, say that we have surpassed our 2011 YE goal. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network covers more than 186 million Americans from coast to coast.With two months still left in 2011, we have no plans to slow down. Thirteen more cities will launch on Nov. 17. That will bring our total market count to 178 for the year, with December still to be announced.In subsequent years, an equally aggressive growth plan will result in nationwide coverage by YE 2013.Over the past year, Verizon Wireless has also worked to bring its 4G LTE network beyond major cities with its LTE in Rural America program. - We’ve launched more than a dozen 4G LTE devices in less than a year and just jointly announced the soon to release 4G LTE Droid RAZR ™ by Motorola, due to launch in NovemberIt’s Fast. A RAZR sharp device running exclusively on our 4G LTE network. It’s Strong AND Thin. We all have all dropped a phone. That fear of the dents, scratches or the dreaded broken screen has gone through all of our minds. Droid RAZR can handle the day-to- day bumps and bruises because it’s framed with steel and cased with KEVLAR Fiber (think bulletproof vests) and Scratch resisting Corning Gorilla Glass. The shocker comes in because it is the thinnest 4G phone available. It’s Smart. The Droid Razr has brains. For example, a free app called MotoCast lets customers stream or download their music, pictures and more from their PC to their phone. Smart Actions helps automate everyday tasks and optimizes battery efficiency by letting customers create rules, such as automatically setting the phone to vibrate during work hours or dimming the display at a specific battery level. Pretty amazing.I could go on and on about the features and specs but, just know, this is THE iconic device and will absolutely steal the show this 4th Quarter.
