Antarctica is the fifth largest continent at 5,500,000 sq mi, it is extremely cold with record low temperatures of -128.6 degrees F and frequent heavy snowfall. While there are some animals like penguins, seals and fish that live there, it is considered a frozen desert due to the glaciers that cover much of the land, yet about 1,000 people still live in Antarctica.
