How to Outline Determine the purpose of your paper, the audience for whom you are writing, your thesis Brainstorm: list all of the ideas that you want to include in your paper Group: group all related in ideas together. Order: arrange groups of ideas in logical order; within each group arrange ideas/information from general to specific Label: create main and sub headings
