  cancer fitness training
& wellness coaching You can beat cancer, even if you have
to live with it. Millions of people
everyday suffer from some sort of dis-
ease brought on by those treacherous
cells trying to keep the body down.
Between all of the treatments and
                                  emotional turmoil surrounding each
individual, it’s not always an easy
process getting back to being your-
self. But you don’t have to fall victim
to it. For those who are able to battle
through the barriers of recovery and
begin the healing, there is a light of
                                  empowerment to be had.

                                  “Our goal is to help
                                   individuals find a path
                                  towards positive long-term
                                  quality of life.”

Chemotherapy, Radiation, Hormonal Therapies and other cancer related treatments can lead to a
compromised immune system, mental and physical fatigue, lymphedema, damage to heart and lungs,
diabetes and osteoporosis, just to name a few. Exercise training is a powerful tool that cancer patients
and survivors can use to begin the process of reclaiming their individuality, sense of well-being, and ev-
eryday lives. Studies have shown that cancer patients who participate in regularly scheduled, supervised
exercise, exhibit improvements in heart and lung efficiency, functional capacity, reduced physiologi-
cal stress, nausea, fatigue, and depression, an improved immune system, and a reduction in treatment
related complications.

Reclaim Your Life with the Help of a Wellness Coach
Wellness Coaching is a guilt-free, no-nag zone, in
which your personal well-being is the number one
priority. A Wellness Coach can help motivate you,
provide unconditional support, assist you in identify-
ing your personal strengths and help you build upon
them. Via skillfully conducted “coaching sessions”,
they help shine a light on what may be holding you
back.

Many clients have specific health goals in mind, but
many are also trying to make changes in their lives.
Some choose wellness coaching after being diag-
nosed with a health challenge such as cancer. Well-
ness Coaches do their very best to help you see your
way clear to realizing that progress really occurs
between sessions, when you begin implementing
those actions that you and your coach agree will lead
to the most dramatic results.

While it’s easy to develop a sense of lost hope, and
feel victimized by a lab result, studies show that
people who face their fears often tap into their will
to live and be well. Learning to shift your mind set
to view the situation as a “challenge” will help you
gain the confidence to emerge as a stronger person.

When you have the support of a helping hand by
your side you’ll often conquer more than your own
fears. As your Wellness Coach, we will have the
honor of being one of your allies throughout this
process. The key is — you don’t have to do it alone.
Cancer Exercise Specialists (CES)
A Cancer Exercise Specialist, CES, is a caring, knowledgeable, and certified professional qualified to assess,
design, and implement one on one as well as and group exercise programs for individuals diagnosed with
cancer. They are skilled in evaluating health behaviors and risk factors, conducting comprehensive fitness
assessments, writing appropriate exercise recommendations, and motivating individuals to modify negative
health habits and maintain positive lifestyle behaviors. The CES works in collaboration with your physician
and physical therapist to ensure your individual training needs are met.

  • 4. Reclaim Your Life with the Help of a Wellness Coach Wellness Coaching is a guilt-free, no-nag zone, in which your personal well-being is the number one priority. A Wellness Coach can help motivate you, provide unconditional support, assist you in identify- ing your personal strengths and help you build upon them. Via skillfully conducted “coaching sessions”, they help shine a light on what may be holding you back. Many clients have specific health goals in mind, but many are also trying to make changes in their lives. Some choose wellness coaching after being diag- nosed with a health challenge such as cancer. Well- ness Coaches do their very best to help you see your way clear to realizing that progress really occurs between sessions, when you begin implementing those actions that you and your coach agree will lead to the most dramatic results. While it’s easy to develop a sense of lost hope, and feel victimized by a lab result, studies show that people who face their fears often tap into their will to live and be well. Learning to shift your mind set to view the situation as a “challenge” will help you gain the confidence to emerge as a stronger person. When you have the support of a helping hand by your side you’ll often conquer more than your own fears. As your Wellness Coach, we will have the honor of being one of your allies throughout this process. The key is — you don’t have to do it alone.
