3. When you get into groups, you will:
  a.   Review the rubric
  b.   Write your names on the rubric
  c.   Review handout
  d.   Write summary

1. Look at the titles that are bold printed
2. Read the material under the bold printed
   titles
3. Write down the main points in the section
  a. How do you ensure that you do not leave out the
     main idea? The supporting points?
  b. What do you want your audience to know?

  • 5. Group Rubric • Group Rubric – Stays on task – Each member is: • Participating • Focused on reading • Contributes to the discussion in a positive manner – Presentation • Summarizes the material effectively • Delivers the summary to the class in an organized and professional manner (see presentation rubric)
  • 6. Presentation Rubric • Group summarizes the material – Doesn’t leave the important information out • Group teaches the class their section in a professional manner
  • 7. Group Work • Discuss – What does a “highly functioning” group look like? – What does a “poorly functioning” group look like? – How does getting stuck in a group where no one works affect your attitude and grade? – What can EACH member do to make sure the work/presentation gets done and is successful?
  • 8. Group Work 1. We will assign you into a group 2. There will be no complaints or discussion a. If you complain, you loose points 3. When you get into groups, you will: a. Review the rubric b. Write your names on the rubric c. Review handout d. Write summary
  • 9. Review Handout 1. Look at the titles that are bold printed 2. Read the material under the bold printed titles 3. Write down the main points in the section a. How do you ensure that you do not leave out the main idea? The supporting points? b. What do you want your audience to know?
