- 2. The Isle of Man is located exactly half way between England and Ireland.
- 3. Legend tells that the Island was made by two giants fighting . One in England the other in Ireland, the giants threw small boulders until one lost his temper and grabbed a mountain and hurled it. The mountain landed in the middle of the sea, this is now the Isle of man.
- 4. In actual fact the island is the top of an undersea volcano, that lays dormant.
- 5. The island is 15 miles wide and 30 long. The island is 90% uninhabited With the 80 thousand inhabitants living around the coast
- 6. Because of its seclusion over the years, the isle of man has unique culture and animals. Manx Sheep Manx Bobtail
- 7. Douglas is the capital of the island. And the starting point of the Tourist Trophy motorcycle race.
- 8. The TT or Tourist Trophy is the largest road race in the world. Motorcycles and sidecars of all sizes are raced.
- 9. During the races people and promotional crews from all over the world flock to the Island. The population doubles with motorcycle fanatics during the races.
- 10. Races are held on the main roads around the coast and through the housing areas.
- 11. Because the race is held in the streets, the TT is the most dangerous race in the world.
- 12. My uncle was one of the people who crashed in the race.
