The term Diaspora was originally connoted to describethe dispersion of the Jews
outside Israel. It's now used in the context of various communities that are
dispersed outsidetheir home country. E.g. the Indian Diaspora, American
Diaspora etc.
Stats Canada uses the term East Indian to differentiate between people of India
Origin and Firstnations Indians in Canada
Non Resident Indians (NRIs), is a more specific term used for tax purposes. It
refers to "a citizen of India who holds an Indian passportand has temporarily
emigrated to another country for six months or more for employment, residence,
education or any other purpose."
The Indian Diaspora is a much broader term because it refers to an Indian
living anywhereoutside India who doesn'tnecessarily even have Indian
citizenship.

his Indian citizenship=NRI
