This summer was a great learning experience. It was a time filled with new experiences both
professionally and socially. I have never worked in a professional office before and this was a good
introduction to work life. Although I had to adjust to sitting still for up to eight hours a day, I
enjoyed interacting with my co–workers and having a place to focus and work every day.
Additionally, before my internship I hadn't been exposed to many of the tribes in southern Arizona.
Through SWEHSC I traveled and interacted with many tribal communities in southern Arizona. I
have always liked traveling and meeting new people so I had a great time this summer.
I gained a lot of professional skills in my internship. I learned when to dress up and...show more

A very valuable aspect I learned this summer was how to gracefully except criticism. In the past, I
haven't responded to criticism well if it wasn't from someone in my close inner circle. I can take
criticism personally instead of focusing it on my work. My mid–evaluation was a good learning
lesson. I was nervous about the evaluation because I knew I would hear constructive criticism.
But, the meeting went well and I learned valuable information about my performance.
Additionally, when I listened to what my supervisors had to say and implemented their advice, I
found myself doing better. For example, Marti and IngriQue said that I needed to expressive
myself more and not be as passive. When I listened to them, it felt good to express what I was
thinking instead of bottling it up. I really did enjoy my assignments. I particularly liked the tasks
where I could be creative and use the 'right side of the brain'. These assignments were making the
t–shirt design for the AIEA Protecting Our Land summer camp, ITEP video, posters for outreach
events. Additionally, it was always a treat to travel or attend an outreach event. I grew up always
on the road and was happy that after being at school and being confined in a small town in the
woods, I was allowed the opportunity to travel to different parts of the state.
Working with the youth is a passion of mine and that is why I

Personal Narrative Writing
Narrative writing retells an experience that has been life changing in some way. That means that the
subject can be a moment in which you learned something about yourself, about life, or had
something frightening happen to you that has changed your point of view. In the sample essays
provided, I read about experiences with racism, police brutality, and domestic violence.
In Rebecca Goldsmith's essay, "Where Does It End?" she describes a personal experience in which
she notices her grandmother's racial bias. I related to her writing because I have noticed members of
my family making racist remarks. When I visit my grandfather for holidays, he will ask me about
how I am doing and if I am in a relationship. When I reply, "Yes, Grandpa. I have

How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay
Hi I'm Paige and if you had told me last year I'd be in Office Administration I would've said, "no
way, not even close". That's one of those jobs requiring you to be cool calm and collected. The
atmospheres are peaceful and then people work constantly. It's the opposite of my desired
profession and personality. I'm the opposite of my career, or well it was until I met my instructor,
Miss Young. She changed my mind about how I perceived the trade and what I could do with the
skills once I completed. Was very instrumental in helping me obtain the necessary skills to make
the most money in the field of Office work. I managed to get my typing up to the speed of over 60
words per minute. I learned all the processes of Windows Operating Systems, I even got a glimpse
of Windows 10. Using...show more content...
I loved learning. Data entry was a breeze for me as was all the other work in Office Administration
because you just get projects and assignments, follow the directions was simple, and get it done.
Again, Ms. Young did her job well. Whether in a large office space separated by cubicles, or a
nice private office, I'm certain that I can raise to the occasion and do well for myself. Passing the
certification will be easy. I was excited that completing my trade only took me4 months. The next
decision was to decide what I was going to pursue with my completion and certification. I have
options depending upon the level I'm seeking to achieve, there are quite a few. The amount of
words you type and keyboarding skills make a difference. I can type 50wpm. Office positions are
wide open all over the country, depending upon your skill level, they're not isolated to a high–rise
building filled with windows in a 4,000 square foot space of cubicles. Very large companies such as
Ashley Furniture, Office Depot, Walmart, and Luxury Car Dealerships like Mercedes and Lexus

Example Of Narrative Essay On 9/11
On September 11, 2001 more than 2,500 people were killed in a terrorist attack that took place in
New York City when two planes were hijacked and crashed into the North and South towers
causing it to collapse. Although this event took place almost fifteen years ago, people still
remember it like it was yesterday, and it still affects many people's lives today. If all those who
died in the accident were here today they'd be happy to see the brand new tower one, building this
tower meant honoring the fallen and responding to tragedy. Within the rebuilding process
symbolism can be found in two waterfalls, the curtain wall, and even in how tall it was. Two
waterfalls were placed where the Twin Towers once laid. These waterfalls were places here

Personal Narrative: What I Learned In My Writing
Throughout my writing this semester, I know where I struggle with writing and I have learned
many skills to improve my writing . Also it will be all about all the activities we have done and
how they have helped me with my writing. I will talk about the areas I struggle with and what I
have learned in this semester. At the beginning of this semester, I was a very unorganised writer and
I didn't use any evidence in my writing, as shown in the first essay I wrote for Artificial Intelligence.
I did not prepare for the essay and I didn't explain the few evidence that I had put down. Before I
turned in that essay I could have revised it before I turned it in because I had many spelling and
grammatical errors. I really struggled with organizing my writing but, as the semester went on I
have improved a lot more with my organization because my writing was all over the place. I also
struggled with putting in evidence and backing up my evidence with facts. These are the skills that I
have been struggling with...show more content...
I have also improved in my essay by revising my essay by fixing my spelling errors and my
grammatical errors. My essays has definitely improved over this semester little by little. I learned
that I need to be more clear with my evidence and back up my evidence with examples. During this
semester we have done many activities that helped out my writing. One of these activities is the
Frankenstein project is because I learned that we needed to back up every quotes that we found.
Another activity was the ethos and pathos activity because we had to find evidence about our
specific topic and back it up with information. These activities really helped my writing with finding
evidence and supporting my

The Five Basic Rules Of Narrative Writing
The five basic rules of narrative writing can be applied to any report writing situation and will
allow for the successful completion of any investigative report. Many of these reports were
established to help investigators achieve in their writing and allow them to complete the writing
task as quickly as possible so they can get the information. In addition to the five basic rules of
narrative writing the investigator can do other things as well to develop the report and improve its
professional quality towards the report. The first rule of narrative writing is called first person.
When writing a report or during the time someone gives you information you should always write
in the first person and refer to yourself as "I" or "me". As the writes of an investigative report you
are always correct in using the personal pronouns "I" and "me" when referring to yourself. (Biggs,
Michael, 17) The second rule of narrative writing is called past tense. The past tense is the tense that
is most commonly used to describe events or actions that have already occurred which means by
writing a report using past tense can develop consistency and can make the report easier to read. (
Biggs, Michael, 17) The third rule of narrative writing is called active voice. The active voice is the
way of writing that shows action that someone is doing and with a passive voice that is caused by
someone who is having something done to them.( Biggs, Michael, 18) The fourth rule of narrative
writing is

Personal Narrative: Improving Writing Skills
My first thought about writing is dreadful, writing does not come natural for me is hard to focus
on a main theme and then tried to expand on it. So for me writing would be the sooner I can
finish the faster I can get it over with. However writing has also improved many of my lacking
skills. I learn how to shape the body of writing, creating an outline and different ways of
brainstorming. I still need a lot of help improving or developing writing skills. Also taking a few
of writing classes has even improved any basic writing work I do, I improve my resume, referral
letters also I can say that my communication has improved.
Using the example for the flash memoir on improvement, the feedback I got was the question on the
main theme. What I

Narrative Essay On A Journey
Everybody is on or has been on a journey before. Being on a journey is very important because it
gives you a goal or task that you want to accomplish. When you go on a journey you find is
yourself through the experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Throughout a journey, you
are taught life lessons and have the capability of applying that new knowledge for the future for a
better outcome. Sometimes, these life lessons challenge you and you ultimately succeed at the end.
For the past 5 months, I have been on a journey as I have been learning a new instrument that I've
always wanted to learn since I was a little kid. Being on this path has taught me many life lessons
and how to stay focused on what really matters.
My interest in guitar started when my friend used to bring his guitar everyday and I would always
want to play but didn't know how. I would always ask him to teach me how to play but I didn't
know any of the chords and notes, therefore, I just gave up on attempting to play this new
instrument. However, guitar is an elective that's offered here at Kennedy, so I decided to take the
class. I noticed that my friend was getting better the more he practiced, so I decided to join the
class to learn the basics and get started on this new journey. At first, it was difficult to understand
the notes because I didn't have any musical background to help assist me for my own benefit.
However, I began to focus more in class to learn the basics day by day. Overtime, I learned that you
can't learn guitar in one day and you need a lot of practice to get better. I also discovered how
progress is important to reach my end goal.
I stayed on this journey to learn guitar because playing guitar is a special skill that I want to
learn. n my free time or when I'm bored, I could play guitar while learning new and more songs to
play. As a result, I will eventually and gradually get more advanced the more I learn. Another
reason I stayed on this journey is because I want to want to challenge myself to do something I
thought I could never do. When I was little, I always thought that I would never be able to play an
instrument because it was too difficult to learn. Therefore, this is why I wanted to learn guitar in the

Personal Narrative: My Writing As A Writer
During this spring semester, I have grown in many ways as a writer, and a student. I have started
to realize, and accept the flaws that I have created in my writing. In the past, I never looked into
my writings and saw my problems, and if I did, I did not accept that they were problems. In my
writing pieces in the past, I was very hard–headed about what I thought was correct versus what was
actually correct. I have also become More familiar with different formatting options on Microsoft
Word to create a more professional piece or writing. However, figuring out all the parts of writing
and making them work together is the most difficult part of writing. A writer can influence a
reader in many ways using many different strategies. They may be influenced with emotion,
logic, and experience. A main way of influencing your reader is to support your claims
thoroughly. At the beginning of the semester, and through part of the semester, I would come up
with a good main point, but I would lack Good supporting detail to my claims. After being in this
class, I realize more that I need to come up with good supporting evidence to back up my claims.
When writing, I have started to look at my writing in different ways. When I finish writing my
papers, I look back at it and re read it out loud to try to find any...show more content...
Putting all the parts of writing together is what makes a good piece of writing. Over the semester,
my realization of what I was doing wrong paired with the different formatting strategies and the
desire to become a better writer has helped me to become better overall. I believe that practice
makes perfect, and while I have not perfected my writing or even come close yet, I believe that I
have gotten closer to being a proficient writer. I believe that this class has helped me to get closer
to becoming a proficient writer, and will help me in my future classes and

How To Write A Literacy Narrative Essay
On the other hand, writing on topics that fascinate and intrigue me, is rather enjoyable than feeling
like a chore. Ideas stream and words flow naturally without having to mimic and echo others voice.
A literacy narrative is a piece of text written from my own perspective for the intermediate English
composition class. A literacy narrative is anessay about my writing and reading literacy, looking
back to various incidents with a brand new outlook. Writing this essay allowed me to revisit and
assess highlights that contributed to my writing and reading literacy. The main goal of literacy

Personal Narrative: My Writing
When I was younger, I would eat up books faster than I got them. I'd frequently been found
reading books in the zaniest of places. I remember wanting to try writing, although I could never
fully convey the words in my mind onto paper and once in a blue moon when I was able to; only
I understood what I wrote. It had fascinated me, and honestly frustrated me, that people could
write these whimsical and arcane books that I'd held onto like a mother to her child. When I'd
entered middle school it had been an unusual experience at first. I remember having spent all my
cherished time in the library. I'd explore the worlds' I hadn't yet experienced and read anything I
could, as fast as possible with the undying will of a greedy lion. I'd breath in

The Importance Of Narrative Writing
This unit was my favorite kind of writing, so it was easy for me to understand. Learning how to
write narratives was very informative. I never thought that narrative writing had a specific structure
or purpose. The details in narrative writing is essential for a good story. Describing the scene and
allowing the reader to develop their own opinion on the character allows the story to be more
interesting. Characters should develop throughout the story to show the purpose. Peer editing a
narrative allows the author to gain more insight on the story.
Narrative writing is a story that can be either fiction or nonfiction, but needs to contain a purpose
or lesson. The lesson learned from the story is the theme. When reading books, I do not usually
look for a lesson. This has given me a new perspective on narratives. I love to read, but now when
I read I try to figure out the purpose of the story. Stories have always been an escape for me, but
now I can find the purpose of the story. I have learned many different lessons from the short
stories in this unit. In the story "Getup", I learned that I should always be myself and should
never change who I am. Maya Angelou argued that "you will always be in fashion if you are true
to yourself" (30). Moving around a lot has made me feel like an outcast. I moved to Georgia in the
middle of eighth grade and wanted to be the same as everyone else, so I started wearing tons of
makeup. I was young, naГЇve and did not want to be different. Now,

Personal Narrative: My Writing
Many people enjoy and have fun writing, but then again, many people dislike having to write,
including me. Writing has always been something I was never really interested on for many
reasons. The day I first found out that I did not like writing was when I was in high school. To me
writing has always been a long process. When I had my first writing assignment in high school, it
took me so long to get it done. I would easily get distracted because of anything, whether it be a
bright sunny yellow bee buzzing or a big diesel truck passing by I would get distracted. This would
lead me into not finishing my assignment till the last day. Another reason I don't like Even to this
day I still think the same about writing and do my writing assignments

Personal Narrative Essay: A Day At The Beach
I stretched my arms out and looked up and down the beach. Although I lived in Waikiki for years,
it'd been far too long since I took a vacation, let alone the beach, since I'm dealing with
neverending piles of school assignments and activities. As I strolled along the coastline I can feel
the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I was taken in by the soothing atmosphere that encircled me.
I closed my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day.
The beach was oddly quiet for this time of that year, only a handful of people sunbathing. I didn't
mind, I was going to enjoy myself.
I headed out to the water after setting up my towel. The shock of the frigid water took my breath
away and I was momentarily stunned. However, I quickly recovered; finding my body adjusts
rapidly to the cold water. I waded a few feet into it before leaning forward and swimming out. I
didn't dare to go too far though, instead turning to swim parallel to the shore. I was comforted by
the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all of my worries. I looked
into the cloudless cerulean blue sky and see the perfection of life. Just when I was starting to get
tired and wanted to go back to the shore, I saw something.
Off the distance of the coastline, there was...show more content...

Narrative Essay About Being Trapped
I decided to stay in town for Miss Callie's funeral and to help with her family that was still in town.
The loss hurt many who were close to her especially Esau who had loved her for many years. The
funeral had arrived very quickly as Miss Callie had requested a burial. As I walked up to her casket
my knees became weak as tragic memories flashed before me of everything that has happened to
the town. I noticed Esau, and tried my hardest to remain strong for him. A few more steps and I
would be looking at a beloved friend who I would consider my family. I missed her already as I saw
her and realized I would never be able to have a good quality conversation with her again. I gave my
condolences to Esau and the rest of Miss Callie's family before...show more content...
I quickly went home and packed what I would need for a while and other little important things. I
made a call to professional movers to pack up my stuff and put it in storage then an additional call
to a realtor to sell the house. I got in my little car and headed North while booking two flights to
Europe. Even though Miss Callie would not be able to receive lovely gifts from Europe I still
wanted to go for her. Ginger had agreed to go with me and she apologized for not getting in
contact. We made it to Europe and it was crazy different from small town Clanton. It was almost
overwhelming, but it was all worth it. Everyday there was something new and different to try.
About a week into our trip, I get a call from my realtor telling me the Padgitt clan was interested in
buying my house. I was not even halfway through my sentence when I nearly choked on the rest of
my sentence. The realtor said, "They are willing to buy it for 2.5 million dollars." I didn't even
have to think about the answer...yes 2.5 million dollars is a large amount of money, but I would
never put the town of Clanton through something they had already been through. It hadn't even been
a year since everything had happened in the small town. I would most definitely not be the one to
give a single chance to the Padgitts. The realtor was upset with me but understood and delivered the
news right away. The Padgitts will not step foot anywhere near the people I care about in that

to see one of my favorite teachers. We were talking about the colleges. He told me about the

The Importance Of Narrative Writing
Narrative Writing is a story that is told and the order in which it is told. Some stories have
narrators and some without. The narrator is normally a series of characters or one character who tell
the story. Sometimes narrative writing can be classified as fiction writing which is a made up from
start to finish. When there is narrative writing that is based on true stores, then the narrative writing
is non fiction. Most narrative writing in the law enforcement sector is a "how to" format or a
guideline on how a report should be written. It also explains the actual facts on how a crime
occurred during the investigation. According to the text Biggs (2016), There are five rules of
narrative writing. The first rule of narrative writing is, the report should always be written in first
person. When the narrative explains first person, the narrative is stating that using "I or Me" in
the reports identify the author of the person who is writing the investigative report. If "I or Me"
is not being used to write the investigative reports, the investigation could be sought as made up or
fake. The second rule of narrative writing is, the report should also be written in past tense along
with first person view. According to the text, If you write in the past tense, you will develop
consistency and, as a result, create a report that is professional and easy to read. With this type of
consistency, the reports are easily believable to the reader and makes it easy to follow the

The Narrative Essay
*What is a Narrative Essay? Narrative writing tells a story. In essays, the narrative writing could
also be considered reflection or an exploration of the author's values told as a story. The author may
remember his or her past, or a memorable person or event from that past, or even observe the
present. The author may write about: –An experience or event from his or her past. –A recent or
ongoing experience or event. –Something that happened to someone else, such as a parent or a
grandparent.
*Basic qualities of a narrative essay: A narrative essay is a piece ofwriting that recreates an
experience through time. Unlike other essays,...show more content...
*Revising your narrative essay:
After spending time away from the draft of your narrative essay, read through the essay and think
about whether the writing effectively recreates the experience for your readers. Ask other people to
read through the essay and offer their impressions. Identify where more details and descriptions are
needed. Identify and consider removing any information that seems to distract from the focus and
main narrative of the essay. Think about whether you've presented information in the most effective
order.
*Prompts for your narrative essay:
1. A childhood event. Think of an experience when you learned something for the first time, or when
you realized how important someone was for you. 2. Achieving a goal. Think about a particularly
meaningful achievement in your life. This could be something as seemingly minor as achieving a
good grade on a difficult assignment, or this could be something with more long–lasting effects, like
getting the job you desired or getting into the best school to which you applied. 3. A failure.
Think about a time when you did not perform as well as you had wanted. Focusing on an
experience like this can result in rewarding reflections about the positive emerging from the
negative. 4. A good or bad deed. Think about a time when you did or did not stand up for yourself or
someone else in the face of adversity or challenge.

Narrative Essay Writing Tips

  • 1. This summer was a great learning experience. It was a time filled with new experiences both professionally and socially. I have never worked in a professional office before and this was a good introduction to work life. Although I had to adjust to sitting still for up to eight hours a day, I enjoyed interacting with my co–workers and having a place to focus and work every day. Additionally, before my internship I hadn't been exposed to many of the tribes in southern Arizona. Through SWEHSC I traveled and interacted with many tribal communities in southern Arizona. I have always liked traveling and meeting new people so I had a great time this summer. I gained a lot of professional skills in my internship. I learned when to dress up and...show more content... A very valuable aspect I learned this summer was how to gracefully except criticism. In the past, I haven't responded to criticism well if it wasn't from someone in my close inner circle. I can take criticism personally instead of focusing it on my work. My mid–evaluation was a good learning lesson. I was nervous about the evaluation because I knew I would hear constructive criticism. But, the meeting went well and I learned valuable information about my performance. Additionally, when I listened to what my supervisors had to say and implemented their advice, I found myself doing better. For example, Marti and IngriQue said that I needed to expressive myself more and not be as passive. When I listened to them, it felt good to express what I was thinking instead of bottling it up. I really did enjoy my assignments. I particularly liked the tasks where I could be creative and use the 'right side of the brain'. These assignments were making the t–shirt design for the AIEA Protecting Our Land summer camp, ITEP video, posters for outreach events. Additionally, it was always a treat to travel or attend an outreach event. I grew up always on the road and was happy that after being at school and being confined in a small town in the woods, I was allowed the opportunity to travel to different parts of the state. Working with the youth is a passion of mine and that is why I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Narrative Writing Narrative writing retells an experience that has been life changing in some way. That means that the subject can be a moment in which you learned something about yourself, about life, or had something frightening happen to you that has changed your point of view. In the sample essays provided, I read about experiences with racism, police brutality, and domestic violence. In Rebecca Goldsmith's essay, "Where Does It End?" she describes a personal experience in which she notices her grandmother's racial bias. I related to her writing because I have noticed members of my family making racist remarks. When I visit my grandfather for holidays, he will ask me about how I am doing and if I am in a relationship. When I reply, "Yes, Grandpa. I have Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay Hi I'm Paige and if you had told me last year I'd be in Office Administration I would've said, "no way, not even close". That's one of those jobs requiring you to be cool calm and collected. The atmospheres are peaceful and then people work constantly. It's the opposite of my desired profession and personality. I'm the opposite of my career, or well it was until I met my instructor, Miss Young. She changed my mind about how I perceived the trade and what I could do with the skills once I completed. Was very instrumental in helping me obtain the necessary skills to make the most money in the field of Office work. I managed to get my typing up to the speed of over 60 words per minute. I learned all the processes of Windows Operating Systems, I even got a glimpse of Windows 10. Using...show more content... I loved learning. Data entry was a breeze for me as was all the other work in Office Administration because you just get projects and assignments, follow the directions was simple, and get it done. Again, Ms. Young did her job well. Whether in a large office space separated by cubicles, or a nice private office, I'm certain that I can raise to the occasion and do well for myself. Passing the certification will be easy. I was excited that completing my trade only took me4 months. The next decision was to decide what I was going to pursue with my completion and certification. I have options depending upon the level I'm seeking to achieve, there are quite a few. The amount of words you type and keyboarding skills make a difference. I can type 50wpm. Office positions are wide open all over the country, depending upon your skill level, they're not isolated to a high–rise building filled with windows in a 4,000 square foot space of cubicles. Very large companies such as Ashley Furniture, Office Depot, Walmart, and Luxury Car Dealerships like Mercedes and Lexus have teams of Administrative staff. Example Of Narrative Essay On 9/11 On September 11, 2001 more than 2,500 people were killed in a terrorist attack that took place in New York City when two planes were hijacked and crashed into the North and South towers causing it to collapse. Although this event took place almost fifteen years ago, people still remember it like it was yesterday, and it still affects many people's lives today. If all those who died in the accident were here today they'd be happy to see the brand new tower one, building this tower meant honoring the fallen and responding to tragedy. Within the rebuilding process symbolism can be found in two waterfalls, the curtain wall, and even in how tall it was. Two waterfalls were placed where the Twin Towers once laid. • 5. Personal Narrative: What I Learned In My Writing Throughout my writing this semester, I know where I struggle with writing and I have learned many skills to improve my writing . Also it will be all about all the activities we have done and how they have helped me with my writing. I will talk about the areas I struggle with and what I have learned in this semester. At the beginning of this semester, I was a very unorganised writer and I didn't use any evidence in my writing, as shown in the first essay I wrote for Artificial Intelligence. I did not prepare for the essay and I didn't explain the few evidence that I had put down. Before I turned in that essay I could have revised it before I turned it in because I had many spelling and grammatical errors. I really struggled with organizing my writing but, as the semester went on I have improved a lot more with my organization because my writing was all over the place. I also struggled with putting in evidence and backing up my evidence with facts. These are the skills that I have been struggling with...show more content... • 6. The Five Basic Rules Of Narrative Writing The five basic rules of narrative writing can be applied to any report writing situation and will allow for the successful completion of any investigative report. Many of these reports were established to help investigators achieve in their writing and allow them to complete the writing task as quickly as possible so they can get the information. In addition to the five basic rules of narrative writing the investigator can do other things as well to develop the report and improve its professional quality towards the report. The first rule of narrative writing is called first person. When writing a report or during the time someone gives you information you should always write in the first person and refer to yourself as "I" or "me". As the writes of an investigative report you are always correct in using the personal pronouns "I" and "me" when referring to yourself. (Biggs, Michael, 17) The second rule of narrative writing is called past tense. The past tense is the tense that is most commonly used to describe events or actions that have already occurred which means by writing a report using past tense can develop consistency and can make the report easier to read. ( Biggs, Michael, 17) The third rule of narrative writing is called active voice. The active voice is the way of writing that shows action that someone is doing and with a passive voice that is caused by someone who is having something done to them.( Biggs, Michael, 18) The fourth rule of narrative writing is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Personal Narrative: Improving Writing Skills My first thought about writing is dreadful, writing does not come natural for me is hard to focus on a main theme and then tried to expand on it. So for me writing would be the sooner I can finish the faster I can get it over with. However writing has also improved many of my lacking skills. I learn how to shape the body of writing, creating an outline and different ways of brainstorming. I still need a lot of help improving or developing writing skills. Also taking a few of writing classes has even improved any basic writing work I do, I improve my resume, referral letters also I can say that my communication has improved. • 8. Narrative Essay On A Journey Everybody is on or has been on a journey before. Being on a journey is very important because it gives you a goal or task that you want to accomplish. When you go on a journey you find is yourself through the experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Throughout a journey, you are taught life lessons and have the capability of applying that new knowledge for the future for a better outcome. Sometimes, these life lessons challenge you and you ultimately succeed at the end. For the past 5 months, I have been on a journey as I have been learning a new instrument that I've always wanted to learn since I was a little kid. Being on this path has taught me many life lessons and how to stay focused on what really matters. My interest in guitar started when my friend used to bring his guitar everyday and I would always want to play but didn't know how. I would always ask him to teach me how to play but I didn't know any of the chords and notes, therefore, I just gave up on attempting to play this new instrument. However, guitar is an elective that's offered here at Kennedy, so I decided to take the class. I noticed that my friend was getting better the more he practiced, so I decided to join the class to learn the basics and get started on this new journey. At first, it was difficult to understand the notes because I didn't have any musical background to help assist me for my own benefit. However, I began to focus more in class to learn the basics day by day. Overtime, I learned that you can't learn guitar in one day and you need a lot of practice to get better. I also discovered how progress is important to reach my end goal. I stayed on this journey to learn guitar because playing guitar is a special skill that I want to learn. n my free time or when I'm bored, I could play guitar while learning new and more songs to play. As a result, I will eventually and gradually get more advanced the more I learn. Another reason I stayed on this journey is because I want to want to challenge myself to do something I thought I could never do. When I was little, I always thought that I would never be able to play an instrument because it was too difficult to learn. Therefore, this is why I wanted to learn guitar in the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Personal Narrative: My Writing As A Writer During this spring semester, I have grown in many ways as a writer, and a student. I have started to realize, and accept the flaws that I have created in my writing. In the past, I never looked into my writings and saw my problems, and if I did, I did not accept that they were problems. In my writing pieces in the past, I was very hard–headed about what I thought was correct versus what was actually correct. I have also become More familiar with different formatting options on Microsoft Word to create a more professional piece or writing. However, figuring out all the parts of writing and making them work together is the most difficult part of writing. A writer can influence a reader in many ways using many different strategies. They may be influenced with emotion, logic, and experience. A main way of influencing your reader is to support your claims thoroughly. At the beginning of the semester, and through part of the semester, I would come up with a good main point, but I would lack Good supporting detail to my claims. After being in this class, I realize more that I need to come up with good supporting evidence to back up my claims. When writing, I have started to look at my writing in different ways. When I finish writing my papers, I look back at it and re read it out loud to try to find any...show more content... Putting all the parts of writing together is what makes a good piece of writing. • 11. Personal Narrative: My Writing When I was younger, I would eat up books faster than I got them. I'd frequently been found reading books in the zaniest of places. I remember wanting to try writing, although I could never fully convey the words in my mind onto paper and once in a blue moon when I was able to; only I understood what I wrote. It had fascinated me, and honestly frustrated me, that people could write these whimsical and arcane books that I'd held onto like a mother to her child. When I'd entered middle school it had been an unusual experience at first. I remember having spent all my cherished time in the library. • 12. The Importance Of Narrative Writing This unit was my favorite kind of writing, so it was easy for me to understand. Learning how to write narratives was very informative. I never thought that narrative writing had a specific structure or purpose. The details in narrative writing is essential for a good story. Describing the scene and allowing the reader to develop their own opinion on the character allows the story to be more interesting. Characters should develop throughout the story to show the purpose. Peer editing a narrative allows the author to gain more insight on the story. Narrative writing is a story that can be either fiction or nonfiction, but needs to contain a purpose or lesson. The lesson learned from the story is the theme. When reading books, I do not usually look for a lesson. This has given me a new perspective on narratives. I love to read, but now when I read I try to figure out the purpose of the story. Stories have always been an escape for me, but now I can find the purpose of the story. I have learned many different lessons from the short stories in this unit. In the story "Getup", I learned that I should always be myself and should never change who I am. Maya Angelou argued that "you will always be in fashion if you are true to yourself" (30). Moving around a lot has made me feel like an outcast. I moved to Georgia in the middle of eighth grade and wanted to be the same as everyone else, so I started wearing tons of makeup. I was young, naГЇve and did not want to be different. Writing has always been something I was never really interested on for many reasons. The day I first found out that I did not like writing was when I was in high school. To me writing has always been a long process. When I had my first writing assignment in high school, it took me so long to get it done. I would easily get distracted because of anything, whether it be a bright sunny yellow bee buzzing or a big diesel truck passing by I would get distracted. This would lead me into not finishing my assignment till the last day. • 14. Personal Narrative Essay: A Day At The Beach I stretched my arms out and looked up and down the beach. Although I lived in Waikiki for years, it'd been far too long since I took a vacation, let alone the beach, since I'm dealing with neverending piles of school assignments and activities. As I strolled along the coastline I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I was taken in by the soothing atmosphere that encircled me. I closed my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day. The beach was oddly quiet for this time of that year, only a handful of people sunbathing. I didn't mind, I was going to enjoy myself. I headed out to the water after setting up my towel. The shock of the frigid water took my breath away and I was momentarily stunned. However, I quickly recovered; finding my body adjusts rapidly to the cold water. I waded a few feet into it before leaning forward and swimming out. I didn't dare to go too far though, instead turning to swim parallel to the shore. I was comforted by the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all of my worries. I looked into the cloudless cerulean blue sky and see the perfection of life. Just when I was starting to get tired and wanted to go back to the shore, I saw something. The loss hurt many who were close to her especially Esau who had loved her for many years. The funeral had arrived very quickly as Miss Callie had requested a burial. As I walked up to her casket my knees became weak as tragic memories flashed before me of everything that has happened to the town. I noticed Esau, and tried my hardest to remain strong for him. A few more steps and I would be looking at a beloved friend who I would consider my family. I got in my little car and headed North while booking two flights to Europe. Even though Miss Callie would not be able to receive lovely gifts from Europe I still wanted to go for her. Ginger had agreed to go with me and she apologized for not getting in contact. We made it to Europe and it was crazy different from small town Clanton. It was almost overwhelming, but it was all worth it. Everyday there was something new and different to try. About a week into our trip, I get a call from my realtor telling me the Padgitt clan was interested in buying my house. I was not even halfway through my sentence when I nearly choked on the rest of my sentence. The realtor said, "They are willing to buy it for 2.5 million dollars." I didn't even have to think about the answer...yes 2.5 million dollars is a large amount of money, but I would never put the town of Clanton through something they had already been through. It hadn't even been a year since everything had happened in the small town. I would most definitely not be the one to give a single chance to the Padgitts. • 17. The Importance Of Narrative Writing Narrative Writing is a story that is told and the order in which it is told. Some stories have narrators and some without. The narrator is normally a series of characters or one character who tell the story. Sometimes narrative writing can be classified as fiction writing which is a made up from start to finish. When there is narrative writing that is based on true stores, then the narrative writing is non fiction. Most narrative writing in the law enforcement sector is a "how to" format or a guideline on how a report should be written. It also explains the actual facts on how a crime occurred during the investigation. According to the text Biggs (2016), There are five rules of narrative writing. The first rule of narrative writing is, the report should always be written in first person. When the narrative explains first person, the narrative is stating that using "I or Me" in the reports identify the author of the person who is writing the investigative report. If "I or Me" is not being used to write the investigative reports, the investigation could be sought as made up or fake. The second rule of narrative writing is, the report should also be written in past tense along with first person view. According to the text, If you write in the past tense, you will develop consistency and, as a result, create a report that is professional and easy to read. With this type of consistency, the reports are easily believable to the reader and makes it easy to follow the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

A failure. Think about a time when you did not perform as well as you had wanted.
