SGAC works on the international, national and local level to link together university students and young professionals to think creatively about international space policy issues and inject the new generation point of view into international space policy creation. In this presentation, SGAC members attending SSP13 will give an overview of the organisation and how ISU participants can get involved.

Background NEOs are comets and asteroids that have been nudged into orbits that allow them to enter the Earth's neighbourhood. The possibility of collision to Earth is low but exists. Space agencies and governments around the world are focusing their research on them. Key Objectives To identify key issues and areas of space safety and sustainability relating to current and proposed space operations To examine the safety and long-term sustainability of outer space activities in all aspects, taking into account the interests of all countries. To create an international space forum to showcase the youth’s perspective on the safety of space activities, and the sustainability of the space environment for future generations Key Objectives To inform the general public on how space technologies and space-derived information are valuable in disaster management To provide a channel for new perspectives which contribute to the research efforts on space technologies used in disaster management To provide a forum to those who have an interest in disaster management and space activities, and their impact on society
