Slavery Act.

This report proves where businesses are
currently failing, and what they anticipate to

INTERNAL POLICIES MUST IMPROVE

Despite 65% of respondents believing the Government's
communications on the Modern Slavery Act was unclear,
this hasn't stopped 4 in 5 respondents say they have a
policy now in place.
Only 65% of respondents, however, believe their company's
policy has been clearly communicated internally and 45%
say they cannot see evidence of their policies being adhered
to.

SENIOR TEAM NEEDS TO OFFER SUPPORT

Only 47% of respondents agreed that their senior team 'fully
understand' what is illegal under the Modern Slavery Act. A
problem for businesses who wish to ensure compliance
throughout the whole of their business.
82% of respondents want their senior management team to
do more to enforce compliance to the Modern Slavery Act
throughout the business. A sign of greater support required
from the hierarchy.
7. KEY FINDING 3
SLOW RESPONSE FROM SUPPLIERS
41%
71%
While almost half of respondents were concerned at how
long it takes for suppliers to prove compliance, 41% believe
suppliers require training to understand the new modern
slavery legislation.
71% believe their biggest challenge with modern slavery is
ensuring the compliance of existing vendors. As a result of
this challenge, almost half of respondents believe internal
compliance procedures needs updating.
