I like to swim and this picture was taken when I was swimming in the Yangtze River. Several bodyguards were with me. This is the day I declared The People’s Republic of China. One of my favorite photos is with my son, Anying. I swam in the Yangtze River on July 16, 1966 when I was 72 years old. I wanted to prove that I was still a strong leader! This picture was taken of me in 1949 with my fourth wife, Jiang Qing. Many called her ‘Madame Mao’. I am very proud of what the Cultural Revolution has accomplished. It is important to eliminate four-olds once and for all! This is a picture of me and my son, Anying, in 1949. He was killed in action during the Korean War.
