I like to swim and this picture was taken when I was swimming in the Yangtze River. Several bodyguards were with me. This is the day I declared The People’s Republic of China. It was a great moment for me! Chairman Mao Here are some of my favorite photos. One of my proudest moments was declaring the People’s Republic of China in 1949. One of my favorite photos is with my son, Anying. I swam in the Yangtze River on July 16, 1966 when I was 72 years old. I wanted to prove that I was still a strong leader! This picture was taken of me in 1949 with my fourth wife, Jiang Qing. Many called her ‘Madame Mao’. I am very proud of what the Cultural Revolution has accomplished. It is important to eliminate four-olds once and for all! This is a picture of me and my son, Anying, in 1949. He was killed in action during the Korean War.
