2. What point did the presenter
make about videos just a few
years ago and videos now?
The presenter said that music girls were
classy and elegant, and that they wore a
decent amount of clothes that didn’t show
a large amount of cleavage. Compared to
now the presenter said that new videos are
highly inappropriate and influence sex and
porn on kids. For example twenty years
ago spice girls had a fair amount of clothes
on but showing some cleavage. However,
compared to now music videos are filthy
and are representing porn and sex.

3. Why were these important in the
development of music videos?
Music girls over the years have slowly became less
elegant as only a couple years ago spice girls were very
classy and elegant in their videos, but slowly after a
while video girls clothes were ever so slowly
disappearing as when you hit 2000 there was a ‘thong
song’ where the music girl industry hit a high where you
didn’t need class or elegance to become one you just
had to be specific skin colour and specific breasts and
bum.

4. How did ‘Tashy Jay’ chose to represent herself in the
documentary?
In the documentary Tashy j represents herself as a
music girl and shall only be in videos for money and
will not be demanded to be naked in videos and
exploit herself and embarrass herself to the public.
Also, she’s a bit of a diva as she likes her to get her
own way, her aspiration is to become a much
bigger, successful music girl.
What was she saying about ‘video
girls’ at the shoot?
She was saying a small handful of girls
only get paid to be in the music video
girl shoot, whereas most girls are told
they would get paid where after they
find out there not.

5. Why do they need these
girls in their videos?
They need these girls in their
videos as most of the time music
videos are only successful with half
naked girls dancing around the
artist
What did he think about
‘video girls’?
He thinks that half naked video girls
make the music video better so they
will be able to sell.
Where did they find all these girls? Wouldn’t it be
expensive to pay them all?
They find most of these girls on social media as they advertise for
music girls to come to the video where there is a vast amount of
alcohol and legal highs.

6. How does China Black illustrate some of
the issues with how women are represented
in music videos?
China black has issues with that to many girls exploit there bodies for most of the time no pay or a
minimum amount of pay, and after they are exploited by the artists into bed for sex. However, black
says she doesn’t exploit herself however she is in need for a bum implant, connoting that she must
where thongs or G string in music videos showing cleavage.

7. These women believe they are the ones with
the power. They believe they are exploiting
men, not the other way around. What do you
think?
I think that the men are exploiting the woman as,
most woman at video shoots are not paid and are
promised to be paid. When they are paid,they're paid
minimum and their controlled by the men who tell
them too take their breasts out and do whatever the
artist or choreographer tells them to do. For example
digital Dan explains that when he advertises a music
shoot he tells the woman to be quite and that he tells
them to take out their breasts which is quite
manipulative.

8. This sexual equality expert argues that music
videos have a lot to answer for - what’s the
issue?
Julia Lowe, says that music girls are ‘disposable’
likes scraps of meat. Also, costumes that are in the
music industry now represent pornographic
images, and that young teenagers are bombarded
with masculinity and feminine images.
What does the government think?
The government states that the music videos
change young teenagers personality and
behavior.

9. K.I.G use ‘video girls’ - what
do they think of them?
He says that video girls only have a life
span of ten videos and that after the
videos they sleep with them. Most of
the time girls sleep with the artist to
boost there reputation and fame.

Dan’ has a lot to say - what does
he think of the girls?

that he can order them around with no
pay and advertises that they will but
the girls eventually find out that they
don’t- this Is called swindle.

10. What happened to Alisha?
Alisha, was sexually assaulted by
online models and was lured into
the modeling agency, whereas she
found that she was pinned down to
a table by the recruitments and was
sexually assaulted. Alisha took the
recruitments to court but the jury
didn’t believe her as they thought
she was an exploited model who
does this for free so the man was
let free. Alisha felt like a joke in
court.

11. This lady has been working with
artists for years and cast lots of ‘video
girls’ - what changes has she seen and
what’s her opinion?
Angela Hunt believes that in the 90’s
video girls were beautiful, classy,
elegant. However compared to now
she realizes that music girls are just
sex pistols and just represent sex.
She also talks about ‘triple threat’
that in America you need to be able
to sing,dance and act so they can
break into the music girl industry.

12. Why is she challenged on this performance by the
presenter?
She said she would never were a thong in a music video. However, when the presenter
travels to America to meet Tashy J she challenges her on why she wore a thong in a music
video. She said that she wasn’t being promiscuous and was doing it for the fame.

13. This is the US ‘Ambassador for Hip Hop’ - what
is her view?
That woman can be skinny and have a beautiful body but
men don’t they are out of shape and boss woman about
because their rich. On the contrary, she says that if woman
enjoy dancing in music videos why not stop them from doing
it.
How has Angel Lola Love’s experience
been positive?
Angel had been in many music videos and was
getting paid ten grand per video, by doing the
music videos she has become a rapper Lola
Monroe. She got paid twelve grand for some
videos. She used her video girl status to become
a rapper.

14. What conclusions can we draw from this
documentary?
We can draw that most girls are lured into videos and are given a lot of confidence, however when
they arrive at the recruitments they are exploited sexually and are most of the time controlled by the
artist and don’t get paid. Following on, many girls chase the expensive dream and realize its too much
to afford to become a music girl. Lastly, as sex excels music videos become worse with still men in
charge of the woman at the music videos.
