2. Let me introduce my family. My husband
of 11 years and I have 3 daughters (ages
10, 7.5 and 3). We love to ride our bikes.
It is a fitting family activity since I met my husband at the bike shop
he owned at the time. I grew up in Gainesville and my parents and
brother still live here; it is a joy raising our children close to so much
extended family. It is also fun to witness my daughters experience
some of the same events and places that I did as a child.
3. For the past 6 years, I have run a nursery school in our home.
I have logged thousands of hours with young children, ages 1 to 3. I also spent 3.5 years teaching high school math and 2 years being a
full-time mother. My time with these toddlers has been truly rewarding, but now I am ready to return to teaching high school.
4. That’s me!
Here is some more brief bio: I graduated from Eastside HS in
1997, earning my IB diploma. Growing up in Gainesville, I promptly
left and attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I graduated in
2001 with a B.A. in mathematics. While in Philly, I worked at a
bookstore and for the University Honors Program. I returned to
Gainesville briefly and then spent 4 months travelling in Mexico and
Central America. Upon returning, one of my first goals was to get a
bicycle, which led me to meet my husband. I love to cook (and
eat!), read, practice yoga, and ride my bike. I dabble in gardening and
arts of all kinds.
