WHAT IS PHYSICAL
ACTIVITY?
 PHYSICAL ACTIVITY simply means
movement of the body that results in the use of
energy.
 Walking, running, gardening, climbing the
stairs, playing soccer are all examples of being
physically active.
 It is important that everybody is physically
active to prevent obesity and many other
diseases and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
 Most day to day activities can count as
physical activity.
 It is important to maintain a lifestyle with at
least moderate physical activity so that one
can stay healthy and fit.
 Health is a state of complete physical, mental,
emotional and social well-being and not
merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
