people.

contrasting background.

INTERVIEW
Mrs. DeBarry
Q: Why is fast food consumed so much even though we all know that it is
bad for your health?
A: The reason that fast food is consumed so much is because it’s filling
convenient and inexpensive .
Q: Why are children targeted by fast food giants through commercials?
A: Children are targeted more than adults because children are still
developing the own identity's and that also includes their eating habits.
Q: Why does everything in fast food seem to have artificial flavoring?
A: Fast food is artificially flavored because most of the food is processed
and it loses it’s flavor, so flavor has to be added, for example chicken
Mc Nuggets has beef extract in it.
THEORY: ADVERTISEMENT EFFECTS
• Fast food marketing is one of the largest contributors to childhood
obesity.
• Parents can be influenced by the advertisements saying that their meals
for kids are healthy.
• Kids are also enticed by the prospect of toys with the meals that are
purchased.
• Toys are usually based on the latest popular cartoons.

• If the fast food business knows that consuming too much is bad why
don’t they change their methods?
• Have you seen different commercials where they use a cartoon to
address the audience or people that are happy?
