30. General graveyard The pantheon was founded in 1829. It functioned, provisionally, until 1839 when the Oaxaca City Hall decided to build a formal cemetery. The General Cemetery was officially inaugurated on July 18, 1901. Its design has a marked neo-classic influence, respecting the tendencies of the times of Porfirio Diaz.
