Authentic Leadership is a theory of or approach to leadership. An authentic leader is someone that leads with a heart of service and bases their actions on an awareness of their own core values.

Why does authentic leadership matter?

Leaders are defined by their values and their characters. At the heart of leadership is the leader's relationship with followers. People will entrust their hopes and dreams to another person only if they think the other is a reliable vessel.
