4. Historical Overview
Bank Alfalah Limited was incorporated on June 21st,
1997 as a public limited company under the Companies
Ordinance
1984.
Its
banking
operations
commenced
from November 1st ,1997. The bank is
engaged in commercial banking and related services
as defined in the Banking companies ordinance, 1962.
Since its inception, as the new identity of H.C.E.B after
the privatization in 1997, the management of the bank
has implemented strategies and policies to carve a
distinct position for the bank in the market place.
5. About the Bank Alfalah
The Bank is owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi Group
and is the sixth largest bank in Pakistan.
The Bank does business through a network of over 500
branches in more than 170 cities in Pakistan.
The Bank has an international presence in Afghanistan,
Bangladesh, Bahrain and a representative office in the UAE.
The Bank provides financial solutions to consumers,
corporations, institutions and governments through a broad
spectrum of products and services, including corporate and
investment banking, consumer banking and credit,
commercial, SME, agri-finance, Islamic and asset financing.

that’s why these people hesitates in dealing with the bank
Still less branch network compared to other banks
As a large firm it is not giving its staff a more benefits.

18. Observation & Conclusion:
We observed the Bank Alfalah is a financially sound
bank, its profits are increasing year by year, its staff
is very good sincere with the bank. Bank Alfalah under
the leader ship of Sheikh Hammad Bin Mubarak Al
Nahyan has made significant in building and both the
corporate and retail banking sectors in Pakistan. The
bank attained number two position in terms of its
balance sheet size amongst the private bank in
Pakistan in 2000.
