3. JOB SUMMARY Administer nursing care to patients receiving hemodialysis treatments in an efficient, safe, and courteous manner using proper nursing procedures, basic knowledge of ESRD and its tretament necessary.
4. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Delivery of Nursing care via the nursing process to the ESRD patient. Practice within ReNAP Standards and Guidelines of Clinical Practice Initiate a patient plan of care on admission and revise as needed.
5. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist patient, physician and peers in determining long and short term goals. Carry out medical and nursing treatment in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain knowledge of the patient’s status during his dialysis treatment and work with health care team to adjust and improve his care.
6. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain knowledge of telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation Supervised trainees in delivery of care Exhibit cooperation and positive attitude toward other hospital departments. Follow procedures to assure that supply and medication stocks are rotated and replaced as used.
7. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Document medications and Nursing care in a timely and accurate manner. Assure that consents are obtained as necessary. Complete incident and error forms when appropriate. Assist physician in the care of patients.
8. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Follow procedure for medication administration and narcotics control. Assume professional responsibility for assuring patient care is of the highest standards possible. Competent in all dialysis related procedures and skills.
9. SECONDARY FUNCTION Participate in inservice programs as both student and teacher. Take primary responsibility for keeping own knowledge and skills current. work with other departments in coordinating smooth transfer of patients for procedures or diagnostic test. Participate in monthly departmental meetings and resuscitation drills. Assist in peer and staff evaluations when requested. Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in delivery of patient care. Assist nursing staff in other departments as requested and qualified when need arises. Maintain a current yearly CPR status.
