This document summarizes an elementary school lesson on plant and animal relationships around the world. Students used a Google Earth virtual tour to visit 7 natural wonders and learn about the vegetation, animal life, and other facts in each area. The technology integrated lesson engaged students and allowed all 80 second graders to participate. The virtual tour was essential to teaching students about relationships between geography and different species in each part of the world visited.
4. We asked students challenging questions like, “Why do you think a toucan bird doesn’t live in the Grand Canyon?” The children were really engaged and loved the different pictures of animals we had projected.
