2. Analyze The Learner
Teaching significant change during the Industrial Revolution to a 5th
grade class. 12 boys, 8 girls, 60% white 30% African-American and
10% Hispanic. 3 students in the class have an IEP.
3. Main Objective
My 5th graders will learn about the Industrial Revolution and be able
to discuss five significant changes that took place to the class and
myself. After watching a few YouTube videos, reading short stories
from the Industrialization, looking at industrialization inventions and
creators, watching Flocabulary’s Industrial Revolution song video
and creating their own personal inventions to market and promote
my 5th graders will be able to discuss five significant changes that
took place during the Industrialization with a 90% accuracy rate in
one week.

Day One
Students will be introduced to the Industrial Revolution. What is
the Industrial Revolution? When was the Industrialization?
Students will be introduced to how life was before
Industrialization.
5. Day By Day Breakdown
Day Two
Students will be introduced to the Industrial Revolution Rap and
will discuss the first significant changes that began the Industrial
Revolution.

Day Three
Students will be introduced to the top ten Industrial inventions.
Who created these inventions and what were their purposes?
Students will also discuss in groups how they believe lives
changed from the Industrial Revolution.

Day Four
Students will learn how many lives changed due to
industrialization. Students will also begin group work and create
their own inventions to market.

Day Five
Students will present their inventions to myself and the classroom
and will be asked to discuss five significant changes that took
place during the Industrial Revolution.
