Imagine one day of our life without maths being an integral part of it! Math is not just
important in our day-to-day lives but we can make a living out of it now. Math 2.0 Day
reminds us that technology is here to stay.
History of Math 2.0 Day
We all know that Math was never one of the student’s favorite subjects.
But this day is a celebration of the amalgamation of Technology with Math.
Let us all remember the time when most of us would sleep in the class during the maths
lecture.
Or some of us would just stare at the blackboard as if looking into infinity.
But, we all must agree to the fact that maths has been an inseparable part of our lives.
If we talk about programmers, they deal with mathematics daily to form a variety of
computer operations.
Mathematics is required to form even the simplest program.
Scientists are one of the biggest users of mathematics, whether they’re calculating the
statistical variance of the data or figuring out how much to add to their chemistry
experiment, maths is everywhere.
The house we live in, the daily electronic appliances that we use, are all a gift to us by the
engineers.
They too use mathematics to design all of these!

Math 2.0 Day celebrates these heroes who have made our lives much easier.
How to celebrate Math 2.0 Day
Even if we are not able to contribute much to the mathematical and technological world,
let us all celebrate this day.
Let us all once open the old Almira where we have kept our math textbook.
Go through the various equations and formulae again.
Remember the maths classes at school and college and relive all those memories.
Put up a story on your social media handles as to what you did during your maths class.
Make yourself fall in love with those dancing numbers over again.
Another way to celebrate this day is to thank all your teachers and professors who taught
you maths.
Thank them for being ever so patient towards teaching the toughest subject of all times.
Make sure that you stop by those people who use math every day and thank them for
doing the work so you don’t have to.
It is of utter importance that we thank the people who have made our lives easier and
smooth.
From our mobile phones to cars to electrical appliances, maths has contributed to them
all.
Spend the day solving some mathematical problems and telling math jokes.

Many companies and universities organize Math 2.0 events. Attend one of these events
and learn more about the intersection of mathematics and technology.
Without mathematics, we would not have buildings or cars, airplanes, TV, or even the
device you are reading this on.
Indeed, math is the basis of almost all science and technology. This unofficial holiday is
thought to have been created in 2009 and is a celebration of math and technology.
It brings together mathematicians, innovators, educators, and policymakers around the
world and aims to raise awareness about the importance of math literacy and education,
both at the school and college level.
So let us all today see the subject ‘math’ from a different perspective.
Let us not treat it as a boring subject or something that would confuse us.
