Message from the Youth Development Project Head- Ranjan Chowdhury
After I have spentmore than 25 years with youth development projects I have
observed that the grassroots development plan is a strategic framework to
select, nurture & launch the budding talents of sports across the country. It is
an essential element for establishing a supply chain of players from local level
to the national/international level.
I personally feel it is very essential to start quality/effective grassroots & rural
sports developmentprogram to ensurethe developmentof sportingculture in
our country.
At present the league culture is already started in Indian sports industry &
along with that it is very important to give emphasis on youth development
program & residential academies as residential academy plays a vital role in
youth development program & it is essential for holistic developmental
program of players.
If we just take a look at the recent Olympic medals India got in Badminton PV
Sindhu, Saina Nehwal both of them were from a single academy Pulela
Gopichand’sResidentialAcademy so this residentialacademy culture needs to
be put in place for developing a supply chain of highly talented players.
Now it is the perfect time for major stakeholders to invest in the
comprehensive sports grassroots program as the demand for the talented
players is very high & there is a huge gap between supply & demand.
About the club
East Bengal Football Club is one of the oldest clubs in Asia we have a great history
and reputation for winning titles and the football tradition is very strong here with
enormous Fan base around the world.

Football proud.
MISSION-VISION-CORE VALUES
Club’s one of the main priorities is to promote youth football and to encourage the
development of young footballers. Youth football offers a glimpse of the future – and
the Club gives top priority to produce the stars of tomorrow which will be the supply
line of players to the senior team. The task is to provide an opportunity where the
young can nurture their talent with a sense of direction and purpose and to make a
career out from football.
Honors of Youth Development Project
In June 2007 the Club’s U-15 football team qualified for the Manchester United
Premier Cup World Finals which was held on August 2007. In the World Finals the U-
15 team got a word of praise from English legend Sir Bobby Charlton. The English
legend commented, “I saw a few matches, including one featuring this Indian side.
They had certain handicaps but what struck me was their stomach for fight, which
was astounding. It was really impressive to see how eager they were for a fight.”
U-18 Academy team has finished as runners up in the U-18 Hero I-league 2016-17
competitions amongst 34 teams in all over the country.
U-18 Academy Team (Residential)
The Club’s U-18 academy team serves the purpose of Final Youth Phase of Youth
Player Development as per AFC guidelines.
We scout top 30 players based on TIPS scouting method from different football
pockets in India like Punjab, Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Kerala, Nagaland,
Maharashtra etc. & train them by holistic method to become elite players.
Every essential element to become an elite player is taken care by the club for these
players like high nutrition food, top quality accommodation, training facilities to
match the international standards, experienced AFC licensed coaches & education.
Our U-18 academy building is in Salt Lake Sec-5 opposite to Technopolis IT Park &
from the investors point of view it is the prime location in the city for
branding/advertising purposes.
For the players above U-18 age group the ‘Final Youth Phase’ is a transition period
from youth to adult football. During this period, players are being prepared for the
tough and demanding physical and mental requirements of senior team football.
The main objective of this project is to supply professional quality players to East
Bengal senior team, Indian national team & other I-league & ISL teams on loan
through holistic process.
The U-18 team participates in various national & international tournaments like U-
18 Hero I- League, Prestigious IFA Shield tournament & Bardoloi Trophy.
U-16 Academy Team (Residential)
The Club’s U-16 team severs the purpose of Formative Phase of Youth Player
Development as per AFC guidelines.
The Club runs this U-16 Academy Team in association with Rajganj Welfare
Association at Rajganj, where we scout top 30 U-16 players form Tea Garden
Workers Community and provide them proper accommodation, good food, licensed
coaches, best training facilities and education to become professional players.
The main objective of this project is to give a platform to talented children’s of Tea
Garden Workers Community & to show them a pathway to become professional
football players.
The U-16 academy team works as a supply line to U-18 academy team.
The U-16 team participates in various domestic & national tournaments like U-16
Hero I- League, Administrators Cup.
U-13 Team
The Club’s U-13 team serves the purpose of Grassroots Development as per AFC
guidelines.
We scout top 30 local players from different schools & grassroots project in the city.
The major scouting is done from the Nursery League.
The Club’s U-13 team is a non-residential project so the Club doesn’t provide
accommodation to these players but all the necessary elements for the grassroots
kid to become a professional player are taken care by club like proper training
facilities, licensed coaches and meal after the training etc.
The U-13 team participates in various domestic & national tournaments.
EAST BENGAL FOOTBALL SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE (U-5 TO U-13)
EBFSE is India’s first international level football school project gifted to Indian
Football Fans by the country’s most popular club – East Bengal.
Our aim is to provide international quality training based on modern scientific
methods like psychometric assessment, sessions on sports science & nutrition and
theoretical analysis of historic matches along with on field implementation.
Approximately 450 children’s of different age groups are currently registered and
learning the game of football from our professional licensed coaches.
Our Technical Team
Ranjan Chowdhury (Project Head of Youth Development): He is the first DFB-B
(Germany) Licensed Coach in India. Ranjan worked as Youth Development Coach in TATA
Football Academy for almost 16years then worked with Pune FC as Head of Youth
Development. During his tenure, more than 280 TFA graduates have represented the
National Team of India in different age groups. Currently he is associated with us a Project
Head of Youth Development since last season.
Sujit Ranjan Chakraborty (Head of Youth Development): Is a very well known person
in Indian football arena with wide experience in coaching & certificate holder of AFC 'A'
License Coaching Award. He was associated with ONGC second division I-league team as a
Chief Coach also he worked as a National Selector of AIFF U-19 age group team. His
achievements as a player are also astonishing.
Alvito D’cunha (Head Scout & Academy Coach): Former Senior Indian National Player
very well known as a Golden Footed Boy of India. He played for East Bengal Club as a left
winger for a long span of 14 seasons & then later he joined with our Youth Development
Project to share his expert knowledge of football with the young upcoming players.
Success Stories of Youth Development Program
There is a young boy from Punjab who used to work as a
farmer to look after his family. His name is “Mehtab Singh
Sandhu”.
Despite the several hurdles of life, he had a passion.
His love was not a fancy gadget nor a bike or a car but his love was the
beautiful game of Football.
Today, he is one of the vital players in the defence line for the Mighty East
Bengal Senior Team.
Mr. Ranjan Chowdhury spotted him from the small village, Chakar, situated at
a stone throw distance from Pakistan Border on the outskirts of the state of
Punjab.
He joined as a U-18 player for East Bengal Football Academy and emerged as a
leader & became the captain of 2017 U-18 I-league runners up team. Later he
made his way into the senior team within a span of 4 months.
At present under the coaching of Mr. Khalid Jamil, he is a regular playing
member of the team for the ongoing Kolkata League 2017 – 18.
The journey from an unknown farmer to a professional football player is
remarkable, East Bengal Football Academy has given him the prefect platform
to convert his dreams in to reality.
Now “Mehtab Singh” is a popular and well known name which roams around
millions.
A local lad from Ashoknagar, whose father’s dream was to
play football in the big clubs of Kolkata Maidan, but
because of financial crisis he joined police force as a diver
to look after his family.
The dream of his father became into reality through his
son “Prakash Sarkar”. He got his first lesson of football
from his father and at the age of 15 he got selected in the IFA academy.
Mr. Ranjan Chowdhury spotted him in the Administrator Cup, Chandigrah
and brought him to East Bengal Football Academy, which provided him the
perfect platform to establish him as a professional Football Player, within a
year he made his way in to the senior team.
Now he is living his father’s dream and playing as a midfielder along with
Syrian International player Amna in the first team.
The tenacity, ability to play under pressure & the vision for the game at this
age, reminds us of Mehtab Hossain (Midfield General) of the recent past.
A notorious child from Sirarakhong (a small village of
Manipur), with a middle class family background where
education is the first priority.
“Yami Longvah” was very good in academics but his
love for football was more than anything & the love for
the beautiful game of football was growing every day,
there was a time in class 8th final exam he completed his
paper within 1 hour and went out to play football, still managed to pass.
His father saw his passion for the game and took him to Shillong at his aunt’s
place where he stared practicing at Shillong Lajong Soccer School. The U-14
coach liked his game and then his journey as an academy player stared. He
stayed there for 4 years and got promoted gradually till U-17 but he couldn’t
make it to the U-19 squad. He went back home with a broken heart.
That same year East Bengal Club announced the trails at Manipur & Mr.
Ranjan Chowdhury spotted him amongst 600 tralists. He got selected in the
U-18 team and with the hard work and dedication he always was a playing
member of the team.
Under the guidance of coach and the platform that East Bengal Football
Academy has provided him he made his way in to the senior team in only 8
months time span.
Now he is a playing member of the East Bengal senior and even got a call for
U-19 National Team.
These success stories are of our U-18 residential academy project which
we started last season & seven players from the same project signed the
senior team within a span of one year.
Five players from this team got a call for U-18 Indian National Team
which will represent the National side in SAFF CUP at Qatar this year.
Till date our Youth Development Program has given around 40
professional players to the Indian Football Industry who represented
the Senior National Team & many I-league/ISL clubs.

Kingfisher East Bengal Youth Development Program - Sponsorship Proposal

  • 2. Message from the Youth Development Project Head- Ranjan Chowdhury After I have spentmore than 25 years with youth development projects I have observed that the grassroots development plan is a strategic framework to select, nurture & launch the budding talents of sports across the country. It is an essential element for establishing a supply chain of players from local level to the national/international level. I personally feel it is very essential to start quality/effective grassroots & rural sports developmentprogram to ensurethe developmentof sportingculture in our country. At present the league culture is already started in Indian sports industry & along with that it is very important to give emphasis on youth development program & residential academies as residential academy plays a vital role in youth development program & it is essential for holistic developmental program of players. If we just take a look at the recent Olympic medals India got in Badminton PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal both of them were from a single academy Pulela Gopichand’sResidentialAcademy so this residentialacademy culture needs to be put in place for developing a supply chain of highly talented players. Now it is the perfect time for major stakeholders to invest in the comprehensive sports grassroots program as the demand for the talented players is very high & there is a huge gap between supply & demand.

Honors of Youth Development Project In June 2007 the Club’s U-15 football team qualified for the Manchester United Premier Cup World Finals which was held on August 2007. In the World Finals the U- 15 team got a word of praise from English legend Sir Bobby Charlton. The English legend commented, “I saw a few matches, including one featuring this Indian side. They had certain handicaps but what struck me was their stomach for fight, which was astounding. It was really impressive to see how eager they were for a fight.” U-18 Academy team has finished as runners up in the U-18 Hero I-league 2016-17 competitions amongst 34 teams in all over the country.
  • 4. U-18 Academy Team (Residential) The Club’s U-18 academy team serves the purpose of Final Youth Phase of Youth Player Development as per AFC guidelines. We scout top 30 players based on TIPS scouting method from different football pockets in India like Punjab, Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Kerala, Nagaland, Maharashtra etc. & train them by holistic method to become elite players. Every essential element to become an elite player is taken care by the club for these players like high nutrition food, top quality accommodation, training facilities to match the international standards, experienced AFC licensed coaches & education. Our U-18 academy building is in Salt Lake Sec-5 opposite to Technopolis IT Park & from the investors point of view it is the prime location in the city for branding/advertising purposes. For the players above U-18 age group the ‘Final Youth Phase’ is a transition period from youth to adult football. During this period, players are being prepared for the tough and demanding physical and mental requirements of senior team football. The main objective of this project is to supply professional quality players to East Bengal senior team, Indian national team & other I-league & ISL teams on loan through holistic process. The U-18 team participates in various national & international tournaments like U- 18 Hero I- League, Prestigious IFA Shield tournament & Bardoloi Trophy.

  • 6. • 7. Our Technical Team Ranjan Chowdhury (Project Head of Youth Development): He is the first DFB-B (Germany) Licensed Coach in India. Ranjan worked as Youth Development Coach in TATA Football Academy for almost 16years then worked with Pune FC as Head of Youth Development. During his tenure, more than 280 TFA graduates have represented the National Team of India in different age groups. Currently he is associated with us a Project Head of Youth Development since last season. Sujit Ranjan Chakraborty (Head of Youth Development): Is a very well known person in Indian football arena with wide experience in coaching & certificate holder of AFC 'A' License Coaching Award. He was associated with ONGC second division I-league team as a Chief Coach also he worked as a National Selector of AIFF U-19 age group team. His achievements as a player are also astonishing. Alvito D’cunha (Head Scout & Academy Coach): Former Senior Indian National Player very well known as a Golden Footed Boy of India. He played for East Bengal Club as a left winger for a long span of 14 seasons & then later he joined with our Youth Development Project to share his expert knowledge of football with the young upcoming players.
  • 8. Success Stories of Youth Development Program There is a young boy from Punjab who used to work as a farmer to look after his family. His name is “Mehtab Singh Sandhu”. Despite the several hurdles of life, he had a passion. His love was not a fancy gadget nor a bike or a car but his love was the beautiful game of Football. Today, he is one of the vital players in the defence line for the Mighty East Bengal Senior Team. Mr. Ranjan Chowdhury spotted him from the small village, Chakar, situated at a stone throw distance from Pakistan Border on the outskirts of the state of Punjab. He joined as a U-18 player for East Bengal Football Academy and emerged as a leader & became the captain of 2017 U-18 I-league runners up team. Later he made his way into the senior team within a span of 4 months. At present under the coaching of Mr. Khalid Jamil, he is a regular playing member of the team for the ongoing Kolkata League 2017 – 18. The journey from an unknown farmer to a professional football player is remarkable, East Bengal Football Academy has given him the prefect platform to convert his dreams in to reality. Now “Mehtab Singh” is a popular and well known name which roams around millions.
  • 9. A local lad from Ashoknagar, whose father’s dream was to play football in the big clubs of Kolkata Maidan, but because of financial crisis he joined police force as a diver to look after his family. The dream of his father became into reality through his son “Prakash Sarkar”. He got his first lesson of football from his father and at the age of 15 he got selected in the IFA academy. Mr. Ranjan Chowdhury spotted him in the Administrator Cup, Chandigrah and brought him to East Bengal Football Academy, which provided him the perfect platform to establish him as a professional Football Player, within a year he made his way in to the senior team. Now he is living his father’s dream and playing as a midfielder along with Syrian International player Amna in the first team. The tenacity, ability to play under pressure & the vision for the game at this age, reminds us of Mehtab Hossain (Midfield General) of the recent past. A notorious child from Sirarakhong (a small village of Manipur), with a middle class family background where education is the first priority. “Yami Longvah” was very good in academics but his love for football was more than anything & the love for the beautiful game of football was growing every day, there was a time in class 8th final exam he completed his paper within 1 hour and went out to play football, still managed to pass. His father saw his passion for the game and took him to Shillong at his aunt’s place where he stared practicing at Shillong Lajong Soccer School. The U-14 coach liked his game and then his journey as an academy player stared. He stayed there for 4 years and got promoted gradually till U-17 but he couldn’t make it to the U-19 squad. He went back home with a broken heart.
  • 10. That same year East Bengal Club announced the trails at Manipur & Mr. Ranjan Chowdhury spotted him amongst 600 tralists. He got selected in the U-18 team and with the hard work and dedication he always was a playing member of the team. Under the guidance of coach and the platform that East Bengal Football Academy has provided him he made his way in to the senior team in only 8 months time span. Now he is a playing member of the East Bengal senior and even got a call for U-19 National Team. These success stories are of our U-18 residential academy project which we started last season & seven players from the same project signed the senior team within a span of one year. Five players from this team got a call for U-18 Indian National Team which will represent the National side in SAFF CUP at Qatar this year. Till date our Youth Development Program has given around 40 professional players to the Indian Football Industry who represented the Senior National Team & many I-league/ISL clubs.
