requirements for NAB’s NextGen platform (R2A). Responsibilities included putting together use case
(scenario) requirements and testing strategy to satisfy testing of approx. 1000 NFR requirements
examining platform topics such as security compliance and audit, backup and restore, failure, failover
and recovery, DR, usability and accessibility (WCAG2.0), logging , SCM and CM, test environment

• The GSJBW internet/intranet team upgraded their infrastructure platforms from NT4 to Win2K3, as well
as upgrading web platform from Coldfusion 5 to CF8. In addition, implementing 4 new multi-method
Web Services deployed in Enterprise Middleware servers, and 2 x BIG-IP F5 hardware load balancers.
My brief was (using LoadRunner 9.0) to benchmark total application round trip response times for suite
of Advisor Desktop applications (web/middleware) providing breakdowns of each core transaction leg,
measure stress and throughput limits of the web services, test load balancing via BIG-IP F5and to
produce future load and capacity estimates and recommendations for the web platform.
• Other responsibilities included ownership/management of Sitescope V8.6 and v9.0, Diagnostics v9.0,

• Role involved establishing Infrastructure Testing Services team of specialist, non-functional testers and
coordinating the testing of many SD&I/ATS-initiated changes, as well as supplementing projects with
technical/infrastructure testing expertise. This involved testing rollout of new systems (end-to-end),
hardware refreshes, OS-upgrades, establishment and changes to SOE, changes to Infrastructure (network,
storage, middleware, infrastructure management, database, server [such as build, config, and failover]
and desktop) hardware and applications. Role involved forming a department-wide acceptance testing
and approval process, and introducing harness-based automation around technical regression [regular]
artifacts such as SOE, server build verification [and comparison] and OS patches. Also involved
introducing and maturing Performance Testing capability into SD&I based around Mercury’s
Performance Centre (7.8 and 8.1), Compuware’s QALoad and an ‘Earlv vs Late’ precept performance
model.
• Established a service-oriented team, allowing projects to ‘buy’ in to a ‘catalogue’ of testing services and
products. Produced testing ‘products’, estimates, resources, maintained toolsets and regression test [case]
suites, processes, engagements [including model] as well as organisation ‘sell’ of teams capabilities and
‘value add’.
• With approx. $2m budget - Established and managed the E2E Test Environments Project – a project that
saw approx. 300 servers forming a shared Systems and Integration (SIT) and Staging (STG) environment
for the various nabCapital testing teams (approx. 90 testers) to perform a range of testing types. Included
overseeing budgeting, delivery and build, testing, QA and forming (within ITS) a Test Environment
Management team with ongoing support responsibilities.
• Role also saw me as the Practice Lead – Performance and Technical Testing for approximately 10
months prior the role was made into a full-time position.
• To-date the team (of approximately 14 testers) have successfully been involved in over 70 successful
infrastructure and technical-level testing efforts, with approximately ½ of these being performance-

and remotely via web service console), hardware configuration of Dell 2650 and 6650, with SAN,
backup strategy, virtual machine setup and configuration, and VirtualCentre.
• VMWare VirtualCentre is the core management system to manage a virtualised ESX environment. Full
functional testing of this product and associated performance on its dedicated server and VM’s was
performed.
• Testlog was the test case repository used for this project. Other tools used were, Fresh Diagnose,
