 Frame is a portion of the spectacles that holds the lens in their proper position
before the eyes .
 A frame generally consists of the front , which in one form or another contains
the lenses , and the temples , which attach to the front and hook over the ears to
help hold the spectacles in place.
 Rests on the nose ,balance on the ears and anchor around the ears

 PLASTIC FRAME: It is also made up
Polycarbonate, nylon and cellulose acetate
TR90, Ultem also use . This is light weight.
 Metal frames are those made of all metal
parts , except for the nose pads and the
posterior temple sections, which are plastic
covered the eyewire runs completely around
the lens .
 Nylon cord frames sometimes called string
mounted frames or nylon supra hold the lenses in
place by means of a nylon cord that fits around the
edge of the lens. This gives the glasses the
appearance of being rimless. Usually the top of the
lens is fitted into the upper rim of the frames.
 Rimless mountings hold the lenses in place
by some method other than eyewire or nylon
cords. Often screws are used but cement,
clamps and plastic posts have been used.
THEY ARE TWO TYPE OF BRIDGE :
 Plastic Bridges ( Saddle Bridges ) :The bridge
area of a plastic frame is performed and sits
directly on the bridge of the nose.
