LTE TDD Modem external Antenna testing was conducted to verify the Gain of Antenna. With 2600 MHz band Antenna manufacturer claimed a gain of 4.41 dBi. LTE TD standard test dongle was E392 was used.
Quite good gains were being observed in point testing and straight line drive test as well. Below given are the results.

TEST LIMITATION
As most LTE devices are at least 2R hence 02 external Antenna are required.
Even as per vendor recommendation, 2 antennas per one CPE required.
For test conducted Single Antenna was used which might Impair the results.
It is suggested to have 2 Antenna for testing to measure the true gains and benefits
No External Antenna 01 External Antenna
Imbalance between the main and diversity Antenna of a UE will cause low
MCS assignment. Difference should be less then 3 dBm.
