Blizzard/Activision as well as small businesses and startups. The owners (Nate Ritter and Tony Nyikos) are acutely aware
of and supporting microfinance, both locally and abroad. We believe microfinance and microlending are one of the
most positive and practical ways of alleviating poverty and increasing financial self-reliance and self-confidence.
Context Of Internship
We would like to propose an opportunity for the San Diego Microfinance Alliance MFI partners in which we would offer
web design and development services at a deeply discounted rate. Services would be provided by trained and managed
Perfect Space interns to keep the costs low and the quality high. In concert with the web design and development
services, we are offering the internships to local students, again as a focus on enhancing our local community's
professional advancement. We believe in making the connection between professionally trained interns receiving
valuable experience and small local businesses receiving high quality web services, we are able to help make San Diego a
better place to live and thrive.
The Internship
We are looking for an awesome front-end developer intern with WordPress experience to join our team. You will work
with a group of talented designers and developers to create a remarkable web experience for the San Diego
Microfinance Alliance. You can commit to a 3-6 month internship and work from 5-15 hours/week.
Technical Skills & Experience:
* You write valid XHTML markup and CSS in your sleep. Experience with CSS3 and HTML5 is a plus.
* You think Flash is sooo 2004 and you use JavaScript libraries like jQuery to create amazing interactive experiences.
Communication with a web server via AJAX is a plus.
* You have enough experience using Photoshop to slice designs and create image assets for use in a website or email
layout
* You use it, know it, and love it - WordPress 3.x: set up, theming and integrating.
* You have experience using and troubleshooting common WordPress plugins
* Experience developing custom WordPress plugins would be super
