SPIRITUALITY AND FAITH IN
GOD GIVES THE SOMETHING
TO HOLD ONTO , GIVES
THEM HOPE. THEY PRAY FOR
A BETTER LIFE AND THEY
PRAY TO GO TO HEAVEN
WHEN THEY DIE.

5. E X A M P L E S
• Spirituality in Mexico is really strong because it is a
country where most of the population is very poor. They
rely a lot on religion and they pray to La Virgen de
Guadalupe. Is the thing that keeps them happy and
thankful about life.
• Another example of spirituality is on Rome, Italy. Even if
there are not as much poor people than in other
countries, people are very spiritual because that is where
the Pope is. They feel close to God. They pray as much
as they can and are very faithful.

• Also people believe because they are indoctrinated
into being part of a religion since they are young and
can barely speak. This way people will learn that being
part of a religion is the “safe” and “normal”. This way
people are used to this way of life and will make it
difficult to change it.

• Spirituality in a brave new world is not to a god or
heaven, it is to what they make them believe they are,
what they do, what their life is going to be like. They
make them believe they have a community, stability,
and identity which they don’t have because they are
clones. They make them believe everything they do is
for their own good, which is not.

• Are spirituality and religion the same thing as government?
• Pretty much they are the same thing in a certain point of
view. The church tells us what is right and what is wrong
and if we are going to heaven or hell when we die. The
government tells us what we should do because of the laws
and if we don’t we could go to jail or live a normal life. Also
they both have a lot of power on the society. While on the
government there is a president, on religion there is the
pope. At the end of the day everything is about how we
see things and our faith.

SOMA.
• People turn to SOMA to suppress emotions and avoid
issues.

12. C O N C L U S I O N
In the book “Brave new world” , a utopian society lives in a place where any kind of
religion was completely abolished by a World State Government. Thanks to the 10 World
Controllers , not even one person knows that religions and a God existed in the past.
Spirituality in Brave New World is based in Fordism. Fordism is based in Henry T. Ford , a
pioneer in technology of producing things. Service groups are used instead of church , is
were people go tu unite and feel happy. The theory of the leaders is that religion causes
wars and pain in society.
Mustafa Mond said : “God isn't compatible with machinery and scientific medicine and
universal happiness.“
We think Mustafa Mond is somehow right.Our society only clings to religion, because
most of us are conditioned to by our parents and our environment. It is true that many
people find help in God, but even more people suffer through wars in God’s name. The
human race is slowly losing the ability to have faith in itself and rather trusts in God or
destiny. The healthiest option would be to try to combine technology and religion, or just
to let them exist side by side.
