The document summarizes research analyzing trends in interlibrary loan/document delivery (ILL/DD), open access, and piracy and their impact on academic library services. The researchers analyzed citation data from 2015-2016 university publications, the library's journal collection, ILL/DD requests, institutional repository, and Sci-Hub data to understand availability of cited articles through different sources. While most articles were available through library collections or open access, a portion were only available through piracy or their availability was unknown. The analysis found availability of cited articles increased slightly from 2015 to 2016 but a usage decrease of e-journals in 2016 was unexplained. More research is needed to fully understand scholar information behaviors and needs.

CONCLUSIONS
• Need for articles should still be present as our
researchers cite more and more
• Confirmed some feelings we had:
✓ OA is growing faster than the rest
✓ The library offers nice coverage.
✓ Piracy is not so high in Switzerland
✓ We don’t know all sources (and practices)
• But : we can’t explain the slight 2016 usage decrease of
our e-journals.
• More research needed (survey ? direct observation ? …)
• Repeat for all resources provided by university and
develop as a promotion tool for library services incl.
