Project description :
The main objective is to automate release and deployment for application by using shell
scripting and Build forge tool. Build forge tool would give environment to application users to
their application deployment. For PROD environment, I would automate deployment by shell
script in Build forge tool. Application team would request for PROD automation deployment via
service now (global tool for ticket raising). Once app team raised the ticket for PROD
deployment, basic set up would be created in servers and Build forge tool by me. Once set up
done, shell script would be created for automation deployment. The PROD deployment job will
be created in Build forge. As per app team time confirmation, the PROD deployment job would
be scheduled and packages will be released as well as deployed in application servers. For
release management, Build forge toll will pick the packages mentioned by app team in app
servers and release in deployment directory or server. For this automated deployment, We
followed below two roles which are very critical role and had full of critical responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities for automation deployment Build forge tool administration:
• Requirement analysis and Take Part in the Requirement gathering sessions with
application team
• Create Understanding Documents
• Involved with application team to raise request for tool access
• Getting proper approval from app team management and our management for giving
the tool access to app team.
• Verifying about user basic information and technical stuffs of their app team
• Adding the requester name in group of Build forge global group
• Maintaining the user permission in Build forge and assigning the proper job code to user
in Build forge
• Testing user access whether he has access to Build forge
• Recording this user access requirement in the request mentioned by app user.
• Have taken responsible in maintaining daily Status Report & Daily Execution Status
Report for entire Transform Team.
• Tracking the user information on Build forge in daily basis.

Job Responsibilities for automation deployment and release management:
• Take Part in the Requirement gathering sessions.
• Walk through the requirement documents, understand the requirement.
• Involved in Environment set-up
• Creating UAT,COB and PROD jobs in Build forge as per application team requirement
• Checking whether app team users already have access in Buid forge (if app team team
does not have access in Build forge, then tool administration role needs to come up
• Developing the shell script and Perl script to automate the deployment and release in
build forge.
• Performing the automated deployment and release by scheduling the job in Build forge
• Tracking the deployment jobs in build forge
• Report the failure cause to app team if failure happens
• Send out the status information to app team
• Attending the status call with client
Job Responsibilities for Risk and compliance :
• We need to make sure that all the servers and our tool are in compliance as per CITI
standards. For this, I have done QC check (verified whether servers are in compliance
and generate report for risk).
• I used to create Risk and compliance report and used to have call with CITI BISO and
TISO in weekly manner.
• For QC check, I have coordinated with multiple team to make sure all the tools are
installed and verified in compliance.
• Also I used to work on generating vulnerability report for servers and remediated the
violence by working with DBA. For this, we used FortiDB tool to get vulnerability report
for servers.
• I am monitoring users who are having access for the servers. SO any user has access
unwantedly for the server, I used to send the report to app managers and compliance
managers. So for this, I would be generating audit report for the user access. If user’s
access is not in compliance, I will revoke the access.
