Different tiers of management and examples of their functions

1. Top Management
• Main function is to develop long-range plans
for companies to help insure their success.
• Make decisions such as to purchase other
companies, introduce new products or move
or build new locations of the company.
• During economic downturn, low sales and
quality crises it is top management’s job to
uplift and steer the company out of it

2. Middle Management
• Focuses on specific operations, products or customer
groups
• Responsible for developing detailed plans to
implement is a course of action to be a successful
company
• They target a specific demographic i.e age, ethnicity
and products that are the source of their sales and
profit growth.
• Middle management is more familiar with day to day
operations, they are more inclined to come up with
new ways to increase sales or solve problems within
the company.

3. Supervisory Management
• Directly responsible for assigning
nonmanagerial employees to specific job
functions and evaluating performances.
• Works directly with employees
• They implement middle management’s plan
by motivating employees to accomplish daily,
weekly or monthly goals.

4. Pechanga Casino Management
Hierarchy
• Tribal Government : Top Management- they founded the
company but do not actually work for it, however makes all
of the final decisions for promotions and sales
• General Manager, Vice Presidents: Middle Management-oversee
their departments and come up with ways to bring
in more revenue to the casino and share their ideas with
Tribal government for approval.
• Casino Shift Managers, Department Managers: Supervisory
Management- Work directly with employees to ensure the
customer service for the guests are at its utmost and
provide pre-shifts (small discussions before each shift) to
discuss how to reach our daily goals
