Billy Beane is the General Manager of the Oakland Athletics who is losing his best players and has a tight budget of $41 million. With help from Peter Brand, they try to win the World Series by finding good players cheaply using analytics. The Blind Side is based on the true story of the Tuohy family who take in homeless teenager Michael Oher and eventually adopt him, supporting his path to a college football scholarship through high school ball. Both films show underdogs overcoming the odds through determination and unconventional methods.
