5. Diagram of tides forming This diagram explains a part of how neap and spring tides are formed but more of that later on.
6. Neap Tides Neap Tides are formed when the moon is at the first and last quarter of the earth. The moon would be a “half” moon.
7. Spring Tides Spring Tides are formed when the moon is in front of the sun(as you can clearly see(Well at least I hope you can)) and directly behind the sun and the earth.( As you can see)
8. High Tides and Low Tides High Tides occur when the moon becomes a new moon and a full moon. So when the moon is either directly behind or in front of the sun and earth the water is getting pulled towards it and the rest of the water becomes a low. Low Tides also occur when the moon is at its third quarter and first quarter. But the high tides here isn’t as strong/”high” because the it isn’t “exposed” to the suns gravity as much(this might be untrue because I didn’t research this I just assumed because in the picture the diagram underneath the top one when the moon is at the third and first quarter the tides are weaker.)
