5 Principles of Interior Design from Top Interior Designers in Delhi
5 Principles of Interior Design from Top Interior
Designers in Delhi
There are some basic principles of interior design that become the foundation of interior
designing. It is important to understand the basic principles and elements of interior design and
how to apply them to your room. As we discuss these principles given by the top interior
designers in Delhi, it would be of help if you have a space or a room in mind.
This is basically how things feel. So if you look at a symmetrical balance, which is one form of
balance, you would find that if you divide the room right down the center, you would find that
everything is equal on one side and it looks almost perfect when you look at it. Symmetrical
balance is formal and traditional in nature. The next type of balance is asymmetrical. Everything
is not necessarily equalized on either side, but the balance comes from weight, object and color.
The last type of balance is radial balance. In this type of balance everything is centered on a focal
point. Interior designers take an object and then tend to radiate around it. Example would be a
fire place, where usually the chairs and tables are placed around a fire place, or even a television
Space is the ultimate luxury. Space is something we all want, but space is something we all don’t
have. Through the principle of interior design what we do have however, is the illusion of space.
Clutter is what makes a space feel smaller. What is ideal to do is de-clutter and paint everything
white or any other light shade. Windows and light also add to the feel of the room being
spacious. So adding windows may help building the space up. If you don’t have a view, create
one. Place an object right outside the window to draw your eye out.
This would be one of the easiest ways to transform a room. The reason color is so important is
because our visual senses are so highly developed. Everything from our mood to how we feel to
how we behave depends on the color we see. When one sees blue, they invariably feel alert, or
green makes them calm or red makes them feel constrained. The use of color in a room is very
important as this will also dictate the lives and behavior of the people living in that room.
Light can be used to make a big statement. A dull soulless room can be turned into something
vibrant and exciting or you make a serene, relaxing calming space. All by the use of the right
light. Lighting is beyond the switches, sockets and bulbs.
Texture and pattern
Texture and pattern are closely related design elements. Using texture is neither difficult nor
expensive but it is very often overlooked. Pattern when used successfully can add a whole
different feel to the room in question. These soften sharp angles, create a period atmosphere or
even trick you into thinking the room is bigger than it actually is.
The principles are the basics of interior design and can be applied to any space.
Look for these principles when you hire the top interior designers in Delhi to choose the
