2.  Approximately 1 to 2 % of all fractures
 60 % of all tarsal fractures in adults
 Most frequently fractured tarsal bone
 Male to female ratio of 2.4 : 1
 Approximately 70 % of calcaneal fractures
results from falls

• More detailed
• Reflecting the fact that primary fracture line can often consist of
two or more separate fracture lines breaching the articular surface
• Describes number and disposition of these fracture lines through
the posterior facet as seen on CT scan
