5. Weightanka/Wireanka
Base weights
Base weights fully encased in
rubber
Rubber moulding means
base weights aren’t prone to
peeling
Unique design adds to
performance.
Reduces thermal bridging

6. Weightanka/Wireanka
Galvanised Counter weights
Each counterweight weighs 55 lbs (25kg) and incorporate
carrying handles
Different roof types require different Counterweight
quantities

Placement
Based on the European Standard EN795 Kee Safety
recommends the anchors to be positioned a minimum of
8’ 2” (2.5m) from any roof edge, open void or fall hazard.
Do not position in areas where there is a risk of
contamination or accumulation of water
Do not position where any system component could be
affected by oil, grease or algae
Ice and snow must be cleared from base, do not use if risk
of frost or in freezing conditions
On Gravel covered roofs, brush gravel to allow anchor bases
direct contact with roof material

Limitations
Use with PPE that limits the load in the event of a fall to
1,800 lb (8kN)
Do not use in high winds.
WEIGHTANKA Not suitable for supporting cable systems,
Use WIREANKA
Roof structure suitability to be checked by structural
engineer (especially with Wireanka)

Fall Arrest fall distances
The clearance height below the feet of
the user to the first obstacle in the
path of a potential fall must be at least
what is required by any PPE used in
conjunction with the Weightanka
system, plus 1m to allow for potential
movement of the system itself.
N.B. Distance ‘D’ will be increased if
Rope Adjuster or Retractable Lanyard
used dependent on Manufacturers
specification.
Be aware of factors reducing fall
clearance e.g. cars, other buildings,
forktrucks, pedestrians. Recommend
cordoning off area below work area. E.g. where A= 5m, B= 2.5m, D= 5m–2.5m + 1m= 3.5m
E= 1.75m F = 2m G = 1m
Total fall clearance required = 8.25m

Fall Restraint
Combination of anchor position and PPE supplied
ensures no user is able to reach a position of 20”
of any roof edge, roof open or other fall hazard

Cleaning/Storage
The assemblies should be kept clean, using detergent if
necessary, by wiping or hosing down with clean water and
dried.
If disinfecting is deemed necessary please check with Kee
Safety that disinfectant will not cause damage to
equipment or PPE
Storage should be in a dry, chemically inert environment,
away from sources of damage and stored in such a way
that dismantled products will not become lost or misplaced.
Where the Weightanka has been left
in position an optional cover is available.

Before installation
It is strongly recommended that installers assemble and
disassemble one in a place of safety, away from the
worksite, to familiarise themselves with:
the product
the assembly instructions
terms used to describe the various parts
the markings on the product.

Personal Fall Arrest System (Section I - Mandatory; Sections II
and III - Non-Mandatory) - 1910.66 App C
Anchorages to which personal fall arrest equipment is
attached shall be capable of supporting at least 5,000
pounds (22.2 kN) per employee attached, or shall be
designed, installed, and used as part of a complete
personal fall arrest system which maintains a safety factor
of at least two, under the supervision of a qualified person.
ANSI Z3593.1.4
A PFAS which incorporates a horizontal life- Iine (outside the
scope of this standard) shall be evaluated in accordance
with acceptable engineering practice to determine that
such system will perform as 14
intended.
17. Weightanka
Portable, Non Penetrative, Temporary solution
Ideal for Where Roof build up is unknown
No Roof Alterations required
Non penetration does not affect insulation
Good for refurbishment projects
No part of the Weightanka weighs more than (55 lb) 25kg
Performance relies solely on it’s own mass, and the
friction between itself and the roof surface.
