Persuasive Essay About Sports In High School
American high schools are bound to have plenty of sports for all students to play. So why not
pick a sport to play in high school? The reader will learn the many reasons why playing sports is a
vital part in a student's life. Highschool sports will allow students to become better educated and
get higher grades. By playing sports, students will be able to make more friends and enjoy school
more. Lastly, if students were to be able to get a sports scholarship for college, their parents will only
have to pay little to no money. High school sports are good for students because they can get a better
education, make more friends, and have a better chance at getting into a good college. High school
sports are good for students because they can get a better education. Playing sports helps students
get a better education because when they are focused on sports, they also become focused on
their school work. According to the video Sports How Much is Too Much, "playing multiple
sports seem to have a positive effect on their grades." This shows that high school sports are not a
distraction, but a way to get better grades in school. While students are playing high school sports,
they'll want to study more in school. In this quote, S:HMITM talks about how coaches want
students to be able to have good grades and be able to train hard in sports at...show more content...
Students learn about the importance of sports and how it has a positive effect in their lives. Sports
also help teach children about teamwork and sportsmanship and how it will help them in the future.
Although some people might argue that sports are making children stressed out and distracting them
from learning, it actually helps raise their grades and help them become more focused. Paying high
school sports not only allows students to handle pressure, but to also gain leadership

Persuasive Essay On STEM Education
Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start
preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them.
This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in
middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with
extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression,
problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn
how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is
clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression.
There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact
the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school
subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical
way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that
world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking
about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of
school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been
other fields in history that became very popular but

Persuasive Essay On High And Middle School
The start times for High and Middle school should be switched with the upper and primary. The
times should be switched for the following 3 reasons. First, high schoolers need more
sleep.Second, younger kids go to bed earlier than teens so they can wake up earlier. Last but not
least, the high will have fewer tardies first block. High schoolers need more sleep than the
younger kids. Mainly because a majority of kids are not fully awake first block and just half do all
their work. Also younger kids don't need as much sleep they are always hipper and they take naps
after school or even during school.
There are reasons kids should start later than high school students. The main reason is because that

Persuasive Essay On Attending High School
The next chapter in many people's lives is moving away from their hometown and attending college.
What people don't yet understand is the major differences between college and high school. Another
idea that is not thought of, are they prepared to handle the difficulties and challenges that go forth in
earning their desired degree? Attending college is only for people who are willing to take on this
challenge.
In high school, it is illegal to be truant and classroom attendance is required to graduate so, the
only responsibility that a student has is to arrive at school on time. Since attendance is required, it
is easy to get into a routine that stays constant over four years. All that is needed is to show up to
the first class of the day and all classes are set up for the rest of the day. In class, teachers usually
hand out assignments regularly and tell their students the due dates of each assignment. Some
teachers even go ahead and have any assignments that are due posted in their classroom to remind
students every day. The only responsibility that the high school student has is to look at the white
board and remind themselves that they might have an assignment to do that night at home. Once
they go home after a day at school, students will have the help of their parents or guardians to ask if
they have homework that night. Parents are an enormous help when it comes to high school.
Students have the responsibility from their parents to help them be reminded constantly of upcoming
events and due dates.
The work load that also comes from high school is, what most would call, minimal compared to a
college setting. Classes in high school are a year long term and each section of each course is
drawn out. For example, a class could take two weeks to complete one chapter. This allows
teachers to explain the material in detail and give out worksheets that contain small portions of one
chapter. Most of these worksheets can be completed in class allowing students to not have any work
outside of the class room. What this creates is a workload that is very simple to maintain and allow
students to worry less about working at home.
In most college classrooms, the instructor does not take attendance. Their mindset is that

Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or
eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are
made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change,
different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be
like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you
individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning
vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you
take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music,
Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no
complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the
same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you
would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are
normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three
groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times
you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not
have any classes together, it is strictly grade by

School Uniforms Persuasive Essay
Today, many schools around the world enforce uniforms, requiring students to wear specific clothing.
School uniforms, which was first established in 16th century England, are a topic of much debate in
the public school system of the United States. Many people feel that uniforms reduce competition
among students and bring a sense of unity in school. People who are against school uniforms think
that they prevent students from expressing themselves and inhibits creativity. Many students dislike
school uniforms because uniforms can be viewed as a violation of their rights, while others benefit
from uniforms because it relieves the stress of picking what to wear to school. Although school
uniforms do have its benefits, they also limit...show more content...
It is a belief that school uniforms teach students to respect their learning environment and behave
themselves, and, therefore improving discipline. However, that assumption isn't entirely correct.
Researchers have actually found that school uniforms don't make students better behaved. According
to a study of more than 4,500 students, those who wore a school uniform did not have fewer behavior
problems or better attendance. Forcing students to wear uniforms lead to more problems and
misbehavior instead of encouraging discipline. Students could get into trouble if they did not wear
their uniforms correctly. Many kids in today's society cannot stand the thought of someone telling
them what to do, especially what to wear. Instead of encouraging respect, uniforms may cause
rebellions. For example, in 2009, a group of students at John A. Ferguson Senior High School
rebelled against their school uniforms. Instead of following their school uniform requirements, the
students wore what they thought would be a better school uniform to school. Not only uniforms
don't earn schools the respect from its students, but it may also lead to more problems. Some critics
say that school uniforms increase the amount of clothing that parents have to buy for their children,
meaning that they would have to spend more money. Students wouldn't wear their uniforms outside
of school, so parents would have to buy casual clothing for their child to wear outside of school.

Persuasive Letter For High School
First of all I would like to introduce myself, I'm Matthew Jurczykowski. And I Am currently in the
8th grade. Speaking of 8th grade this letter is one of our projects the goal is to write someone only a
persuasive letter asking for someone to do something for you. So to push the letter forth, the thing I
will be asking for is the ability to go on a cab ride in a Diesel locomotive on one of my next visits. I
know this a large wish but I have a passion for railroading and it would be a great experience.
Since I find railroading operations interesting I play this highly physics and operations based train
simulator called run8. Part of the game is where you can play on multiplayer and simulate

What we want to say is important to us because our future is at stake; Therefore, our expectations

Changing the school starting time can benefit us greatly. First, if we start at a later time, students
will be more awake and pay more attention during class. We all learned in health class that the key
components of life are taking care of our body and not overworking ourselves. Another benefit is
the attendance rates can increase. But there has been times when we have accidently slept in and
had no ride available to go to school. Since our parents were at work and we can't drive, so we
came late to school. This proved that starting school at a later time can improve attendance
significantly and we won't be too exhausted. We get that changing the school schedule can be a
difficult thing to do and others might disagree. with the idea. However, there are ways in which it
can work for those who have practice, or jobs they have to attend after school. We would let them
have a study hall and a gym period at the end of the day. This way they aren't missing out on any
academic learning. Also, training for their sport is just like if it were a gym class. This would

Persuasive Essay On High School Education
There are a number of reasons that a school might fail, chief among them being an inequality of
funds throughout a state's public–school systems, a criminally underpaid staff, and a lack of
retention among students over their summer break. To address these issues, I have created a
three–pronged approach, one which I believe will fundamentally alter our public–school school
systems for the better, and will ensure that our students receive a quality education that stays with
them when they walk past the doors of our school and enter into the rest of the world. I call this
reform "YES", as it focuses on three essential areas of reform.
Year–Round Schooling.
Education Funding Reform.
Salary Increases for Teachers.
Our current school hours and length is a problem, in that it is inherently detrimental to what every
school's motives should be; accumulation and retention of knowledge by their students. A study by
the Century Foundation, a think tank based in New York, highlights many of the benefits to
switching to year–round schooling, along with having an increased number of options available to
students during after school hours. The Century Foundation cites California's adoption of
year–round schooling as an example of its benefits, and speaks to the problems it solves. In
California, year–round schooling results in increased retention and reduced class sizes and crowds
(All–Day, All–Year Schools). The usual summer break is dispersed throughout the whole year, giving

Persuasive Essay On Graduating High School
"Almost every successful person begins with two beliefs: the future can be better than the present
and I have the power to make it so" (Pintrest). This is referring to life in general, but specifically
high school. Graduating high school opens up so many pathways that just dropping out or may or
may not getting your GED. Students should graduate high school on the account that it gives better
job opportunities, exceptional life quality and less criminal activity. To make money in our society
you need a job, but the difference in your amount of your paycheck or the fact if you get one at all
is having your high diploma or not. According to Frontline, "The average dropout can expect to earn
an annual average income of $20,241. Thats a full $10,386 less than a typical high school graduate
–––." The fact of sticking around and passing your classes for 4 years, that you don't have to pay
for, this gives you a $10,386 for doing so, unlike if you'd drop out. Also from the same source,
"While the national unemployment rate stood cut of 8.1 percent in August, joblessness among those
without a high school diploma measured 12 percent." If put into perspective, every 12 out of 100
people would be jobless, while differently every four out of 100 people with their high school
diploma would be jobless. Based on this information, having your high school diploma gives you
a nine percent more chance to be employed, but also a $10, 386 advantage than a dropout. Most
everybody wants a family of their own, a well off job to able to support themselves and to have a
happy life. If you drop out of high school it can actually diminish your chances of this. "High
school graduates are less likely than high school dropouts to be unemployed, live in poverty, have
poor health or have children who will also live in poverty" (Grad Nation). Saying that when/if you
drop of high school you didn't only hinder yourself a good life but your children too. Also stated
in Grad Nation, "A high school graduate makes at least half a million dollars more in a lifetime
earnings than a dropout and is three times less likely to live in poverty." By graduating you avoid a
greater chance of living in poverty, which means avoiding being

Stay in School, Persuasive Essay
To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a
good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary
school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is
everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first
20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science,
but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you
meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. A lot of

To become trustworthy, you have to work your way up to become trusted by your classmates and
/or close friends. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy.
But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can
tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs
require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing
money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able
to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible
character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important
because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It
will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't
get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the
choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you
are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college.
For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the
medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology
but you

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom

In the United States alone, 1.2 million high school students drop out each year. The challenges of
dropping out can be detrimental to a teen's future. The long term effects can impact the way they
live and and succeed. Thankfully, a numerous amount of suggestions have been created to make
student's lives easier. Dropping out is caused by a wide variety of reasons, and many different
actions have been taken to improve the overall rates.
Although an abundant number of students believe staying in school is prevalent, there are still
many who drop out for various reasons. According to "Why Students Drop Out, The Economical
Pressures That Make Leaving School Unavoidable", "Roughly 30 percent of students who drop
out of school between the ages of 16 and 18 are working in a variety of jobs, according to a new
study by the Urban Institute, a nonprofit research group based in Washington, D.C" (Rosales, 1).
This is particularly important because people often assume that students who drop out do it out of
lack of integrity. This proves that not all students drop out for the wrong reasons. For instance, some
students who drop out due to working needs many want to stay in school to fulfil their education, but
are unable to because of personal conflicts. Raising a child at such a young age can play a major role
in someone's choice, "Nearly one–third of teen girls who drop out of high school state early
pregnancy and parenthood as key reasons for their decision, according to
TheNationalCampaign.org" (Tucker, 1). Although teen pregnancy is viewed as a non exemplary
behavior, it is still one of the leading reasons students give for dropping out. With the combination of
stress from classes and raising a child, managing to stay in school as a teen parent seems nearly
impossible for most. This often results in dropping out in order to take on the upcoming
responsibilities of parenthood. Because some students have trouble engaging with their classes,
"High school students often report that academic content isn't interesting and they don't have a
personal connection with their teachers, according to an article in 'Psychology Today'" (Tucker, 1).
Those who find the subjects they are learning about uninteresting are more likely

Persuasive Essay On High School Sports
High School sports have an enormous impact on athletes lives. Many benefits are received both on
and off the field. Such activities increase health, academic and social performances, along with
teaching life lessons and skills, human interaction skills and much more. There is also a direct
relationship between sports and academic participation and success. Through high school sports, the
athlete also develops unbreakable bonds with teammates the would be impossible to acquire
without all of the sacrifices teammates endure together. However, some people are against high
school sports. One of the biggest downfall to sport participation is the risk. Depending on the sport,
there is a high chance of injury that follows, even with the possibility of serious injury. The Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated an annual 135,000 traumatic brain injuries
among people ages 5–18 (Sarmiento, Kelly). Another argument against sports is time. Sports take
up a great deal of time and dedication, which makes it difficult to carry out other responsibilities
such as a job. Juggling between sports and school, along with any other activities, can make a
student struggle to keep up with everything going on in his or her life. Injuries are among one of
the top scares when it comes to high school sports. There has been many attempts to prevent these
almost inevitable injuries, but almost all of them come up short. However, these attempts have
still raised awareness and improved equipment which have resulted in a lower risk. For example,
the CDC responded to their study by passing the Children's Health Act of 2000. The act was
launched in September 2005 and was based around the "Heads Up: Concussion in High School
Sports" educational kit. In the first 3 months there were 20,000 kits distributed to help coach spread
awareness, teach other, and to recognize/ prevent concussions (Sarmiento, Kelly). Isaac Sellers, a
former high school football player, stated, "For the fact that brotherhood is developed through all
the pain in suffering put in the offseason makes everything worth it, no matter the outcome. Despite
having a concussion I continued to play because there will always be a risk of injury in everyday

Before, students working while in high school was frowned upon as school was their "job" but
nowadays, it seems like most kids in high school either had or have a job. So now the question is
should high school students work? Or should they focus solely on their education? Some argue that
it hinders their grades and it leads them to nowhere. Others argue that it is an important step to
adulthood as they learn to manage time and become financially responsible. Sure, working can
cause these kids to miss some social events but they can ask for days off in advance for big
occasions like homecoming or the senior ball dance. Even though high school students should be
focused on their education, they should work while in high school because they can earn money
for college, a car, family, they become more responsible and mature with money, and they get
work experience. Earning money while in high school is great because you do not have any bills
to pay. All money earned goes directly to your use, good or bad. This is a big negative in a sense
that an argument for high schoolers not working is because their money is spent on materialistic
things such as expensive clothing, shoes, watches, electronics, etc. As spending the hard–earned
money on such things will make them careless and reckless with their money growing into
adulthood. Having a course in high school teaching kids with jobs about budgeting correctly, saving
up, how much to save, and finding the difference between a need

Persuasive Essay On High School Field Trips
Field trips are a good way to spend the school districts money because it gives time for students to
get a break from school work and tests. Students get to learn new things by going to field trips.
Some field trips help the students understand better the subject they are learning about. When the
school takes you to a field trip for your history class to a museum you get to learn more about the
past and the things that people we didn't know have been through in a way that we don't just take
notes. When younger students hear about going to a field trip they get excited because they get to
go see new things about science and history that they don't really learn about. For the highschool
students most field trips are usually about see colleges. This gives the students a chance to see
what there choices are before becoming a senior or if they are seniors to help them make a right
decision once they got the information on the schools they are more interested in going to or
planning to go to.
Yes it might be a little more work for the teachers to figure out transportation and get accepted to
the place they want to go. It does take time from the teacher doing there own work but it gives
students and teachers to see what they are teaching or learning by seeing it by real or explained
pictures of what happened and what the people back then might have discovered. It might be more
money for the district to spend but it is for educational reasons. Instead of the district spending it on
things they might not need. Field trips to go see colleges gives a better understanding and input of
the things or classes that the students will need for the career field they are thinking of doing.
Ramao states, "Fourth and fifth graders should see colleges and universities, middle school students
are meant to learn more about art or science on their trips and highschool students should visit places
that teach them about their academy's area of focus"(Lillian Monegeau) .

High school sports are good for students because they can get a better education. Playing sports helps students get a better education because when they are focused on sports, they also become focused on their school work. According to the video Sports How Much is Too Much, "playing multiple sports seem to have a positive effect on their grades." This shows that high school sports are not a distraction, but a way to get better grades in school. While students are playing high school sports, they'll want to study more in school. • 2. Persuasive Essay On STEM Education Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them. This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression, problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression. There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been other fields in history that became very popular but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On High And Middle School The start times for High and Middle school should be switched with the upper and primary. The times should be switched for the following 3 reasons. First, high schoolers need more sleep.Second, younger kids go to bed earlier than teens so they can wake up earlier. Last but not least, the high will have fewer tardies first block. High schoolers need more sleep than the younger kids. Mainly because a majority of kids are not fully awake first block and just half do all their work. Also younger kids don't need as much sleep they are always hipper and they take naps after school or even during school. There are reasons kids should start later than high school students. The main reason is because that many parents half to be at work at 8, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Attending High School The next chapter in many people's lives is moving away from their hometown and attending college. What people don't yet understand is the major differences between college and high school. Another idea that is not thought of, are they prepared to handle the difficulties and challenges that go forth in earning their desired degree? Attending college is only for people who are willing to take on this challenge. In high school, it is illegal to be truant and classroom attendance is required to graduate so, the only responsibility that a student has is to arrive at school on time. Since attendance is required, it is easy to get into a routine that stays constant over four years. All that is needed is to show up to the first class of the day and all classes are set up for the rest of the day. In class, teachers usually hand out assignments regularly and tell their students the due dates of each assignment. Some teachers even go ahead and have any assignments that are due posted in their classroom to remind students every day. The only responsibility that the high school student has is to look at the white board and remind themselves that they might have an assignment to do that night at home. Once they go home after a day at school, students will have the help of their parents or guardians to ask if they have homework that night. Parents are an enormous help when it comes to high school. Students have the responsibility from their parents to help them be reminded constantly of upcoming events and due dates. The work load that also comes from high school is, what most would call, minimal compared to a college setting. Classes in high school are a year long term and each section of each course is drawn out. For example, a class could take two weeks to complete one chapter. This allows teachers to explain the material in detail and give out worksheets that contain small portions of one chapter. Most of these worksheets can be completed in class allowing students to not have any work outside of the class room. What this creates is a workload that is very simple to maintain and allow students to worry less about working at home. In most college classrooms, the instructor does not take attendance. Their mindset is that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. High School Persuasive Essay As I sat there and thought to myself what did everyone thing of me after hearing what I have done. "Taylor Bloom responsible for the deaths of 53 high school students. My head started to wander back to my high school days. In my sophomore year, I was bullied nearly every sing day by the stupid jocks. I started to hate myself so I decided to change my look. The next day I straightened my hair, put a black skirt on, and a white button up shirt with some heels, I left a few of the buttons on my shirt unbuttoned. I was making my way up to the school, I saw all eyes on me even the jocks could not take their eyes off of me. WAS I BECOMING POPULAR? Two weeks later I was the most popular girl in South Lake High. I had a tall, handsome boyfriend and my two new best friends Karli and Rebecca. Everyone wanted to be like me, everyone loved me or as I should say "worshipped me". Until one night at a party I got super intoxicated and ended up doing things I probably shouldn't have. That next day everyone was talking about it and all eyes were on me not that I am complaining, but it was not a good look they were giving me... they all knew what I had done that previous night. I did not show up for school the rest of the semester in fear I would lose my reputation so I started getting homeschooled. I went back my senior year and everyone was still talking about that stupid night at that party. I lost my two best friends Rebecca and Karli because they were embarrassed and they believed the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay About High School Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade. • 7. School Uniforms Persuasive Essay Today, many schools around the world enforce uniforms, requiring students to wear specific clothing. School uniforms, which was first established in 16th century England, are a topic of much debate in the public school system of the United States. Many people feel that uniforms reduce competition among students and bring a sense of unity in school. People who are against school uniforms think that they prevent students from expressing themselves and inhibits creativity. Many students dislike school uniforms because uniforms can be viewed as a violation of their rights, while others benefit from uniforms because it relieves the stress of picking what to wear to school. Although school uniforms do have its benefits, they also limit...show more content... It is a belief that school uniforms teach students to respect their learning environment and behave themselves, and, therefore improving discipline. However, that assumption isn't entirely correct. Researchers have actually found that school uniforms don't make students better behaved. According to a study of more than 4,500 students, those who wore a school uniform did not have fewer behavior problems or better attendance. Forcing students to wear uniforms lead to more problems and misbehavior instead of encouraging discipline. Students could get into trouble if they did not wear their uniforms correctly. Many kids in today's society cannot stand the thought of someone telling them what to do, especially what to wear. Instead of encouraging respect, uniforms may cause rebellions. For example, in 2009, a group of students at John A. Ferguson Senior High School rebelled against their school uniforms. Instead of following their school uniform requirements, the students wore what they thought would be a better school uniform to school. Not only uniforms don't earn schools the respect from its students, but it may also lead to more problems. Some critics say that school uniforms increase the amount of clothing that parents have to buy for their children, meaning that they would have to spend more money. Students wouldn't wear their uniforms outside of school, so parents would have to buy casual clothing for their child to wear outside of school. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Letter For High School First of all I would like to introduce myself, I'm Matthew Jurczykowski. And I Am currently in the 8th grade. Speaking of 8th grade this letter is one of our projects the goal is to write someone only a persuasive letter asking for someone to do something for you. So to push the letter forth, the thing I will be asking for is the ability to go on a cab ride in a Diesel locomotive on one of my next visits. I know this a large wish but I have a passion for railroading and it would be a great experience. Since I find railroading operations interesting I play this highly physics and operations based train simulator called run8. • 9. High School Persuasive Speech We are two juniors at Warren Township High School. Our names are Marry Golden and Michelle Huico. Up to this point, we enjoy changing to the Almond Campus. A glamorous place with many colorful wallpapers and security guards. It was reassuring and it looks safe to stay in this school. The "Blue Devil" mascot especially gives us a great first impression. It's been an exciting year for us so far. Many teachers at Warren are also great and they help us improve our grades significantly. What we want to say is important to us because our future is at stake; Therefore, our expectations are tremendously high. A healthy teenager should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep. Unfortunately, most of us wake up at 5:00 am, take a shower, eat breakfast if...show more content... Changing the school starting time can benefit us greatly. First, if we start at a later time, students will be more awake and pay more attention during class. We all learned in health class that the key components of life are taking care of our body and not overworking ourselves. Another benefit is the attendance rates can increase. But there has been times when we have accidently slept in and had no ride available to go to school. Since our parents were at work and we can't drive, so we came late to school. This proved that starting school at a later time can improve attendance significantly and we won't be too exhausted. We get that changing the school schedule can be a difficult thing to do and others might disagree. with the idea. However, there are ways in which it can work for those who have practice, or jobs they have to attend after school. We would let them have a study hall and a gym period at the end of the day. This way they aren't missing out on any academic learning. Also, training for their sport is just like if it were a gym class. This would benefit the students that have practice, jobs, or just want to do better Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay On High School Education There are a number of reasons that a school might fail, chief among them being an inequality of funds throughout a state's public–school systems, a criminally underpaid staff, and a lack of retention among students over their summer break. To address these issues, I have created a three–pronged approach, one which I believe will fundamentally alter our public–school school systems for the better, and will ensure that our students receive a quality education that stays with them when they walk past the doors of our school and enter into the rest of the world. I call this reform "YES", as it focuses on three essential areas of reform. Year–Round Schooling. Education Funding Reform. Salary Increases for Teachers. Our current school hours and length is a problem, in that it is inherently detrimental to what every school's motives should be; accumulation and retention of knowledge by their students. A study by the Century Foundation, a think tank based in New York, highlights many of the benefits to switching to year–round schooling, along with having an increased number of options available to students during after school hours. The Century Foundation cites California's adoption of year–round schooling as an example of its benefits, and speaks to the problems it solves. In California, year–round schooling results in increased retention and reduced class sizes and crowds (All–Day, All–Year Schools). The usual summer break is dispersed throughout the whole year, giving Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On Graduating High School "Almost every successful person begins with two beliefs: the future can be better than the present and I have the power to make it so" (Pintrest). This is referring to life in general, but specifically high school. Graduating high school opens up so many pathways that just dropping out or may or may not getting your GED. Students should graduate high school on the account that it gives better job opportunities, exceptional life quality and less criminal activity. To make money in our society you need a job, but the difference in your amount of your paycheck or the fact if you get one at all is having your high diploma or not. According to Frontline, "The average dropout can expect to earn an annual average income of $20,241. Thats a full $10,386 less than a typical high school graduate –––." The fact of sticking around and passing your classes for 4 years, that you don't have to pay for, this gives you a $10,386 for doing so, unlike if you'd drop out. Also from the same source, "While the national unemployment rate stood cut of 8.1 percent in August, joblessness among those without a high school diploma measured 12 percent." If put into perspective, every 12 out of 100 people would be jobless, while differently every four out of 100 people with their high school diploma would be jobless. Based on this information, having your high school diploma gives you a nine percent more chance to be employed, but also a $10, 386 advantage than a dropout. Most everybody wants a family of their own, a well off job to able to support themselves and to have a happy life. If you drop out of high school it can actually diminish your chances of this. "High school graduates are less likely than high school dropouts to be unemployed, live in poverty, have poor health or have children who will also live in poverty" (Grad Nation). Saying that when/if you drop of high school you didn't only hinder yourself a good life but your children too. Also stated in Grad Nation, "A high school graduate makes at least half a million dollars more in a lifetime earnings than a dropout and is three times less likely to live in poverty." By graduating you avoid a greater chance of living in poverty, which means avoiding being Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Stay in School, Persuasive Essay To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first 20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science, but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. A lot of jobs in today's society require you to talk to...show more content... To become trustworthy, you have to work your way up to become trusted by your classmates and /or close friends. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy. But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college. For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology but you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment. Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. The long term effects can impact the way they live and and succeed. Thankfully, a numerous amount of suggestions have been created to make student's lives easier. Dropping out is caused by a wide variety of reasons, and many different actions have been taken to improve the overall rates. Although an abundant number of students believe staying in school is prevalent, there are still many who drop out for various reasons. According to "Why Students Drop Out, The Economical Pressures That Make Leaving School Unavoidable", "Roughly 30 percent of students who drop out of school between the ages of 16 and 18 are working in a variety of jobs, according to a new study by the Urban Institute, a nonprofit research group based in Washington, D.C" (Rosales, 1). This is particularly important because people often assume that students who drop out do it out of lack of integrity. This proves that not all students drop out for the wrong reasons. For instance, some students who drop out due to working needs many want to stay in school to fulfil their education, but are unable to because of personal conflicts. Raising a child at such a young age can play a major role in someone's choice, "Nearly one–third of teen girls who drop out of high school state early pregnancy and parenthood as key reasons for their decision, according to TheNationalCampaign.org" (Tucker, 1). Although teen pregnancy is viewed as a non exemplary behavior, it is still one of the leading reasons students give for dropping out. With the combination of stress from classes and raising a child, managing to stay in school as a teen parent seems nearly impossible for most. This often results in dropping out in order to take on the upcoming responsibilities of parenthood. Because some students have trouble engaging with their classes, "High school students often report that academic content isn't interesting and they don't have a personal connection with their teachers, according to an article in 'Psychology Today'" (Tucker, 1). • 18. Persuasive Essay On High School Sports High School sports have an enormous impact on athletes lives. Many benefits are received both on and off the field. Such activities increase health, academic and social performances, along with teaching life lessons and skills, human interaction skills and much more. There is also a direct relationship between sports and academic participation and success. Through high school sports, the athlete also develops unbreakable bonds with teammates the would be impossible to acquire without all of the sacrifices teammates endure together. However, some people are against high school sports. One of the biggest downfall to sport participation is the risk. Depending on the sport, there is a high chance of injury that follows, even with the possibility of serious injury. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated an annual 135,000 traumatic brain injuries among people ages 5–18 (Sarmiento, Kelly). Another argument against sports is time. Sports take up a great deal of time and dedication, which makes it difficult to carry out other responsibilities such as a job. Juggling between sports and school, along with any other activities, can make a student struggle to keep up with everything going on in his or her life. Injuries are among one of the top scares when it comes to high school sports. There has been many attempts to prevent these almost inevitable injuries, but almost all of them come up short. However, these attempts have still raised awareness and improved equipment which have resulted in a lower risk. For example, the CDC responded to their study by passing the Children's Health Act of 2000. The act was launched in September 2005 and was based around the "Heads Up: Concussion in High School Sports" educational kit. In the first 3 months there were 20,000 kits distributed to help coach spread awareness, teach other, and to recognize/ prevent concussions (Sarmiento, Kelly). Isaac Sellers, a former high school football player, stated, "For the fact that brotherhood is developed through all the pain in suffering put in the offseason makes everything worth it, no matter the outcome. Despite having a concussion I continued to play because there will always be a risk of injury in everyday Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Before, students working while in high school was frowned upon as school was their "job" but nowadays, it seems like most kids in high school either had or have a job. So now the question is should high school students work? Or should they focus solely on their education? Some argue that it hinders their grades and it leads them to nowhere. Others argue that it is an important step to adulthood as they learn to manage time and become financially responsible. Sure, working can cause these kids to miss some social events but they can ask for days off in advance for big occasions like homecoming or the senior ball dance. Even though high school students should be focused on their education, they should work while in high school because they can earn money for college, a car, family, they become more responsible and mature with money, and they get work experience. Earning money while in high school is great because you do not have any bills to pay. All money earned goes directly to your use, good or bad. This is a big negative in a sense that an argument for high schoolers not working is because their money is spent on materialistic things such as expensive clothing, shoes, watches, electronics, etc. As spending the hard–earned money on such things will make them careless and reckless with their money growing into adulthood. Having a course in high school teaching kids with jobs about budgeting correctly, saving up, how much to save, and finding the difference between a need Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay On High School Field Trips Field trips are a good way to spend the school districts money because it gives time for students to get a break from school work and tests. Students get to learn new things by going to field trips. Some field trips help the students understand better the subject they are learning about. When the school takes you to a field trip for your history class to a museum you get to learn more about the past and the things that people we didn't know have been through in a way that we don't just take notes. When younger students hear about going to a field trip they get excited because they get to go see new things about science and history that they don't really learn about. For the highschool students most field trips are usually about see colleges. This gives the students a chance to see what there choices are before becoming a senior or if they are seniors to help them make a right decision once they got the information on the schools they are more interested in going to or planning to go to. Yes it might be a little more work for the teachers to figure out transportation and get accepted to the place they want to go. It does take time from the teacher doing there own work but it gives students and teachers to see what they are teaching or learning by seeing it by real or explained pictures of what happened and what the people back then might have discovered. It might be more money for the district to spend but it is for educational reasons. Instead of the district spending it on things they might not need. Field trips to go see colleges gives a better understanding and input of the things or classes that the students will need for the career field they are thinking of doing. Ramao states, "Fourth and fifth graders should see colleges and universities, middle school students are meant to learn more about art or science on their trips and highschool students should visit places that teach them about their academy's area of focus"(Lillian Monegeau) . In middle school I had field trips to colleges and to go see art performances. I was very excited to see how people express feelings or situations through dance. It was a fun experience I had.
