Farmington High School hosted a celebration for receiving certification from Chartwells as a Center for Excellence, a research and training center for improving school nutrition in a multi-state region, with only one such center in the Central United States region. The certification recognizes the school's efforts to serve excellent and nutritious food to students while introducing more vegetables and fruits on the menu and offering flavored water options to encourage healthy choices and improve student health.

2. The commons at Farmington High School hosted the celebration, an assurance
that Farmington students are receiving excellent food and service.

3. Farmington High School will serve as a Center for Excellence, a research and
training center for a multi-state region. Dodge Middle School and Meadowview
Elementary also received certification from Chartwells.

4. Bruce Norman, Regional Manager explained the importance of the
Centers for Excellence designation. There are 10 such centers in the
United States, but only one in the Central Region.

5. Improving nutrition and student health is a goal.
Water is offered with flavors such as lemon or cucumber.

6. Entrees are both nutritional and appealing to the eye.

7. Efforts are made to introduce more vegetables and fruits on the menu.
