Practical rules in designing KPIs • Decide on outcomes to achieve • Determine activities most definite in leading to your defined outcomes. • Ensure KPI is a clear, consistent and indefinite measure of that activity • Decide how you will measure the KPI and report it consistently • Decide who is accountable to the KPI and its measure • Set clear targets for your KPs and align incentives to them.
